The rooms are clean the bed is confortable. We liked very much our stay in the hotel. The breakfast was also delicious. Mrs. Jasmina is very friendly. Free parking area in front of the hotel. The late check-in hours was also a plus for us. Since we only could arrange to come at 2200 pm.

This really is a lovely apartment. It is not only equipped with anything you might need, but also furnished with style. Home away from home. You will find a seating area/ dining table, fully equipped kitchen, full bath and even a sauna. We visited in March but when the weather allows it must be wonderful to sit on the terrace and enjoy the view. For any nature lover this is the perfect spot. Away from any hustle and bustle but anything around the corner if you need it - perfect starry nights included. And on top you get a really charming host couple. Most helpful but always decent. We found Tamara‘s tour tips really helpful and enjoyed the morning croissants. There was much more service not mentioned here, but be assured, that you will be in best hands in Slovenia with these hosts!

Very good hotel, ideal for visiting Postojna or on the way...

Very good hotel, ideal for visiting Postojna or on the way to the Adriatic Sea. Very warm and courteous welcome, super rich and yet inexpensive breakfast. Despite its proximity to the main road, the room was very quiet. Air conditioning is available, but we didn't need it. We can fully recommend this hotel.

The caves were incredible - a great experience.

The caves were incredible - a great experience. We bought the ticket which also gave access to the vivarium. Make sure you dress warmly for both as the caves are very cold. There is a shuttle - an additional 2 Euros return- that takes you from the hotel car park to Predjama Castle. This was also so interesting and well worth a visit.

We were on a cycling tour and stayed at Pira Hotel for 2...

We were on a cycling tour and stayed at Pira Hotel for 2 nights to explore Postojna Caves, Rakov Skocjan National Park and Predjama castle. Skocjan Caves is only 20km away too and we visited that the day before. It’s interesting to see that Skocjan Caves and Postojna Caves are ranked #4 and #6 in the world’s best caves and indeed they are amazing and should not be missed so a 2 or more night stay makes sense.

The city itself is not very special.

The city itself is not very special. If you come to Postojna, you come for a number of sights that lie on the outskirts of Postojna or just outside it. Recommendations include: the Postojna Caves, the Vivarium, the Secret Rooms of Hotel Jama, Predjama Castle, Škocjan Caves and the medieval ‘Holy Trinity Church’ in Hrastovlje.

We were only here for the weekend and enjoyed our time to the fullest. The weather was really cold, but that didn't bother us. We visited the Postojna Cave and then the Vivarium. The next day we visited the Expo Jama Kras and Predjama Castle. As a recommendation, I would suggest visiting Expo Jama Kras first and then Postojna Cave. The impression of the cave with a bit more knowledge and background would be better! Predjama Castle is something very special and unique that you absolutely have to see! We visited it in really cold winter weather and I think it gave us that real, cold, stone castle look and we could imagine what it was like back then. On the other hand, I think it's beautiful in summer too, and we already have it on our bucket list for a second visit in spring/summer. Just to see the other side and get this impression too! The cave below can only be visited in the summer months, which is one of the reasons why as well.

The town itself isn't terribly interesting, but the area...

The town itself isn't terribly interesting, but the area offers some of the most epic attractions I've ever visited - namely the Postojna Caves, Predjama Castle and the Skocjan Caves. It's like stepping into a fairytale. They blew my mind. The local museum is also worth visiting and gives you a bit of context to these locations.

Big, spacious room, comfy beds, nice small corner )in the room!) with plates, cups etc... and even free coffee (there was also a microwave, an electric kettle, and a fridge) The location is perfect - 10 minutes walk to Postojna jama. we were allowed to leave the car at the parking after we have checked out and we went for a trip to the caves.
