GOREME is a great little place , with loads to do .
GOREME is a great little place , with loads to do . We did plenty of walking , but the highlight is definitely the balloon ride , an experience of a lifetime . The only thing i didn’t like about GOREME , is the prices of food and drink , it’s ridiculously expensive compared to the rest of Turkiye , even Istanbul is a fraction of the cost . Be careful also when booking the air balloon trip , the initial price will be inflated, also book it nearer the time , as we were lucky . We booked it Saturday for the Sunday , the following 3 days flights were cancelled. I was surprised by how overly "tourist-y" Goreme was.
I was surprised by how overly "tourist-y" Goreme was. The restaurants didn't offer traditional Turkish food, everything was very overpriced, the whole town came across as flashy and overdone to me. It was a lovely place and lots to see. Many scenery places are accessible by walking. Hot balloon ride is absolute “must”, it was spectacular. Would recommend to book through your hotel as it costs less than half of the price paid on line.Guest review byAnonymous

Breakfast was fantastic with so much choice and lovely seating areas. You'd be full for the day from it.
