It's hard to find the right words to describe our 6-night stay at the Kendwa Crystal Coast Hotel. The tranquility of the setting and the kindness of the staff made our vacation unforgettable. Iunes, I hope the name is correct, the hostess was so thoughtful she even changed the mattress that was too hard for my back. Chatting with her about the life of the Zanzibari people was truly pleasant and interesting. As everyone has said, the rooms are spotless, the breakfast is typical and good, and the beach is a 15-minute walk away, along a slightly bumpy road but full of local life. Thank you very much for everything. (For an umbrella and two sunbeds, at the end of the road there's the Sunset restaurant, where you spend $10, which you can then deduct for food.)

My girlfriend and I stayed at this resort in Zanzibar for two weeks, and we had an absolutely amazing time. The hotel was beautiful and spotless, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We enjoyed every meal and truly felt at home. Aggrey, along with the rest of the wonderful staff, really went above and beyond to make our experience extra special. He even organized a stunning private dinner for us on the beach, which I highly recommend to anyone staying here. All the excursions we booked through the hotel were reasonably priced and went off without a hitch. Everything was well organized and smooth. The resort deserves a full 5/5 stars. It was a diverse place with guests from all over the world, including France, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, Africa, and the UK. A big shoutout to the French General Manager and the office crew for arranging a breathtaking room with an incredible sea view!

I stayed in Nungwi and Kendwa, and this is the best hotel and beach in that area for sure. Clean. Spacious. Best view on Kendwa beach and sunset. Nice breakfast. They have a fridge and kettle with tea in the room. A generator if there is no electricity. Owner Alex is often there, and he is very friendly and helpful. He can navigate you around and suggest the best option for every need. Really, this is the best place in that area for this money (especially if you are seeking an awesome view of the sea and sunset). Totally recommend.

The G.Manager, supervisors and all the staffs were really amazing. Big thumbs up to the GM Azhar, Walid, Lookman, Tina and the all the staffs for your enormous effort in providing exceptional guest services. The food was delicious, the security and the environment was excellent, the staffs were friendly, helpful and ever smiling, the housekeeping staffs were outstanding including the entertainment teams who had great performance for the guests. Kendwa beach was definitely the best beach compared to...

Kendwa beach was definitely the best beach compared to Nungwi, especially the south part. Even in low tide it was easy to take a swim. Also the beach here is wider and feel less crowded. As on the complete stretch there were many people trying to sell you stuff but on the south part not so many ”permanent” sales people other than the ones having sheds. The Maasai roaming around are friendly but just say no with a smile and most will not be persistent in their effort to sell you something..

If you are looking for white sand beach with the best ocean...

If you are looking for white sand beach with the best ocean waters and minimal tides, Kendwa is the best place in Zanzibar. The beach is the most spacious and greatest on the island and the village provides all the necessities you would need. With many tours and water activities offered on the beach you would hardly need to move anywhere else. It is also a walkable distance to Nungwi during low tide if anyone is interested in a more bustily environment.

The sea and beach with super soft and white sand are...

The sea and beach with super soft and white sand are absolutely fabulous and relatively clean. I got bitten by sand fleas on my legs because I spend a lot of time in the sea and walked barefoot. There is a lot of informal trade on the beach by locals trying to sell something. Maybe even more so if you are a woman walking alone.

The location is great, just a minute from the ocean, there are a lot restaurants both expensive and very local ones, no issues with electricity, hot shower and air-con and the safe box. Card and cash payment is acceptable. Very safe to stay and walk around even at night, the owner is very kind and trustworthy. Very basic breakfast but it OK, no TV and fridge in the room, internet is breaking so often especially in the room, but it works perfectly at the balcony. It is very budget friendly and highly recommend it.

Long walks on the beach, swimming even during low tide.

Long walks on the beach, swimming even during low tide. Some attractions are quite far and transport is expensive. Safari Blue Tour, Swimming with dolphins and turtles, Stonetown and the Serenity Spa were awesome. The trip advisor at the hotel assisted with bookings.

Great location on the beach, very nice and friendly staff, large rooms, beautiful grounds with many coconut palms Unfortunately, there is a lot of small plastic waste and cigarette butts on the beach near the beach chairs. Noise, pollution and danger from reckless jet ski drivers. DANGEROUS & Pollution

Perfect location, certainly the most beautiful beach in Zanzibar and not affected by tides! Beautiful place for holiday! Cleanliness of the room, cleaned every day. Very good wifi and coverage even on the beach. Very good price-quality ratio compared to other hotels in Kendwa. Good quality of food on the beach, served also on the sunbeds. Very cute local acrobatic dancers, Maasai and souvenir and excursion sellers on the beach, not to much intrusive. You can always have a little chat and joke with them. We enjoyed our holiday very much!

The hotel has a perfect location in Kendwa Beach, the room was always cleaned and the breakfast was very good. Most of the staff was nice, smiling and always trying to help you. I would definitely recommend Sunset Kendwa Beach hotel, because its on the best location and good price.
