We decided to leave the hotel we had booked earlier because we had a very unpleasant situation there. So we booked this hotel instead. What a fabtastic decision! It was clean, spacious, comfortable and the nice lady at the reception gave us an upgrade to a room with beauful ocean views. Staff of this hotel were even apologetic for the bad experience we had in the other place in Galveston. Right across the beach at a great location!

I stayed here the night before my cruise. It is a small hotel that really felt more like having my own room in someone’s home. It is comfortable, quiet, safe, easy to get in and out of. And the price is right. It has a nice outside seating area if you want to hang out with friends and enjoy the sea air. It is walking distance to the strand and if I hadn’t been alone I would have taken advantage of that. It is also very close to the cruise port, which was nice. I got to the port in less than 5 minutes. I had questions upon checking in and the owner was responsive, even though not on site. I had already reserved this room for a November cruise and very pleased that I did. I will definitely continue to use this hotel in the future.

The weather could have been more cooperative! Lol!

The weather could have been more cooperative! Lol! No, it was a little windy and cold some of the time; but we just bundled up and enjoyed it. We went to the Strand and enjoyed coffee and shopping there. Ate at Saltgrass which is always good! Shopped at Kroger since it was Thanksgiving (it was a madhouse) but got everything that we needed for Thanksgiving. First Thanksgiving that we did at the beach and it was very nice. Mostly just sat out on the balcony and talked. We enjoyed the view and the convenience of being right on the beach! I loved waking up to the sunrise and walking the beach with my pup! He enjoyed it too!

Beautiful historical buildings, great selection of...

Beautiful historical buildings, great selection of restaurant, cafes, bars and shops. Lots of history, a great place to stay for a few days or prior to joining a cruise. I only stayed 1 night and would staff for 2 or even 3 in future. Felt very safe walking around on my own during the day.

Galveston is a destination that has something for everyone!

Galveston is a destination that has something for everyone! Lots of lovely scenery and fun things to do. You can stroll on the beaches or drive around seeing many historic sites and colorful homes and businesses. There is always music playing and good food and drinks. We always make it a point to visit the Star Drug Store (the oldest drug store in Texas!) for a good meal with a pleasant atmosphere.

We love the walkable beach & the nostalgic ferry ride. Galveston has great restaurants & for practical needs, a good Kroger, Walmart & pharmacies. . Love the trolley, Moody Gardens & the Strand! Our favorite restaurants include Blvd, Katie's, Shrimp & Stuff, which offers gluten-free fried oysters, & Miller's for fabulous breakfasts.

This was not our first trip to Galveston as we live about an...

This was not our first trip to Galveston as we live about an hour away. However, it was a short stay to visit the Strand, take a Harbor cruise and enjoy hearing the surf and looking at the water from our hotel room. Due to some health issues at present, this was all I could manage on this trip. This hotel was a great spot as near restaurants and other sights to explore for families.

Many restraunts to choose from. Umbrella/ chair rentals available on the beach. Many attractions. The Strand was great especially when there weren't any cruise ships in port. Recommend eating at Sugar & Rye, Katie's Seafood House, McNeal's Tavern and Eatry, and Gaidos.

Great location to walk 10 mins to the Strand area (with shops and restaurants) and walk 10 mins to the Royal Caribbean cruise terminal (we were there for 1 night before a cruise). Nice neighborhood to walk around with beautiful oldfashioned houses. The hotel itself was well maintained and had a coffee and water station for all to use. I recommend it.
