A journey through time at the heart of a legendary institution! Staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel is more than just a hotel experience—it's an immersion into the very history of Beverly Hills. As the first hotel built in the city, this iconic place embodies timeless elegance and prestige. For me, this hotel holds special meaning, as my great-grandfather stayed here as the translator and personal chauffeur of the Duke of Windsor, who himself was a guest at this legendary establishment. Discovering this hotel as his grandson was a true joy, a deep connection to a bygone era, where every corner of the building tells a story. The Beverly Hills Hotel has managed to preserve its historical soul while offering contemporary luxury and impeccable service. The atmosphere is imbued with a quiet elegance and a unique charm. You immediately feel the weight of memories and the glamour of the past, and it’s a true privilege to be part of this long lineage of prestigious travelers. A place where the past and present come together in harmony, and where every stay becomes an unforgettable experience. Immersion dans l'histoire et le glamour, où passé et présent se rejoignent pour offrir une expérience inoubliable. Le Beverly Hôtel incarne l'élégance ! Laurent Minguely

FAQs about hotels in Los Angeles

City of Dreams

Exploring Los Angeles, the place where many movies are made, you feel like you’re in a dream. Santa Monica Pier is the ending point of fabled Route 66, while just south is bohemian Venice Beach, lined by tall, swaying palms. Go slightly inland from the boardwalk to glimpse the canals that earned the area its name.

Head north to the golden beach and stunning scenery of Malibu and see why movie stars over the decades have settled here. Also popular with the rich and famous are Bel Air and Beverly Hills, home to exclusive Rodeo Drive.

And the reason for all this glitz and glamour? Hollywood, of course! Sitting high on a hill, the iconic sign is visible for miles around, while below the gold stars on Hollywood Boulevard immortalise celebrities of past and present.  Be there on premiere night to see them grace the red carpet of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.

Over the hill is Universal Studios, offering behind-the-scenes tours as well as rides. Next door are the Warner Brothers Studios, and Paramount Studios are closer to Downtown LA.

Whether you decide to live like a star in a luxury LA hotel or choose a cheap motel through Booking.com, it’s worth renting a car to get around this sprawling city and out to Los Angeles Airport (LAX).

Los Angeles is a city of stark contrasts.

Los Angeles is a city of stark contrasts. The tourist experience mirrors the reality of the locals, for example, if you have money and a car you will have a great experience. As a budget traveller and no car you will be faced with a city that is seriously lacking in many aspects. Travelling in public transport is an strange experience that I wouldn’t recommend to most people. It doesn’t feel strictly unsafe but rather unsettling. Accidentally had to walk near Macarthur Park for a transfer and I was shocked at the homeless situation. However, the food was simply amazing. I recommend Liu’s Cafe on Koreatown.

Downtown has a bit to much homeless people. And some of the streets smell like piss. A few food spots are extremely overpriced. Yet there still are food truck options for under $12 bucks. Overall I was at an even at sinners and saints very lovely rooftop night club.

There is a lot to do in LA - if somebody says 2 days are enough, don't trust them. You want to visit Warner Bros, take a walk on elegant streets, see Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive, another day see the Hollywood Blvd and Sunset - there you may grab a drink and spot some celebrities, another day you take a trip to Santa Monica and Venice Beach. How about going to El Matador and Malibu? Maybe you want to see the perfect views? Try running in Runyon - have some activities there, nice place to feel the California Vibe. We spent there 5 days - I would like to visit LA again in future

I didn't get to see much of LA because spent too much time trying to get to where I wanted to go, freeways are HORRIBLE and it's hard to keep up with the signs on freeways telling you which lane you need to be in to get anywhere. California is a beautful state and it's too bad things are so expenseive and complicated that it kinda ruins the fun anymore.

The best thing we did was walk up to the observatory a few times, once in the day and once at dusk to see sunset & night sky. Universal studios was fun and we visited the Hollywood museum that had some great costumes from films across the years. We used the metro and buses to get around, it felt safe during the day and evenings when we were on it.

Fantastic location, a ten minute maximum walk from Hollywood Blvd and the closest Metro station. The room itself is what I would call “budget chic”. You’d have no idea it was a cheaper option if you didn’t look closely. It had the feel of an expensive hotel, without the price tag and without the “hoity toity” if you know what I mean. The young lady at the reception desk was so wonderful as well.

Loved the pool area and a hotel bar is always a great bonus for travellers. The shuttle to Universal Studios was great and saved parking fees at the park. The staff were fantastic and the cost wasn't bad relative to alternatives albeit it certainly isn't cheap. Great location for Universal and Warner Bros. The onsite restaurant is also a decent and convenient option.
