FAQs about hotels in Seattle

The Emerald City

Nicknamed the Emerald City due to its lush greenery, Seattle is best known for its great waterfront, fantastic skyline and infamous rainy weather. In reality though, the city gets less rain a year than New York or Atlanta!

One look at Seattle’s skyline and you’re immediately drawn to the iconic Space Needle. Standing proudly at 600 feet, this major landmark features a rotating restaurant at 490 feet and has been featured in numerous films and TV shows, including the classic "Sleepless in Seattle."

The Needle isn't far from the popular Pike Place Market, a public farmer’s market selling fresh produce and crafts from local farms and independent merchants. It’s also the place where the Starbucks Corporation was founded in 1971. Enjoy a cup of coffee in their original store! Seattle has many popular parks and, thanks to its mild marine climate, is a great place for outdoor activities. A visit to Kerry Park to admire the best view of the city with Mt. Rainier in the background is a must!

Arriving at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, you’re only about 35 minutes from downtown and whether you’re looking for a hotel with free parking or near the airport, Booking.com has a great choice for your Seattle trip.

It was easy to get around the city and the buses were great.

It was easy to get around the city and the buses were great. We loved the Pike Street markets and enjoyed lunch along the waterfront. The waterfront walk was delightful, starting at Pike Markets and then walking along the shoreline and then easily catching a bus back to 8th Street at the end of our walk. There was a glass factory and shop on 5th Street, walking distance from La Quinta Hotel and then we were easily able to walk along 5th Street to The Space Needle and the Bill Gates exhibition.

We visited because my son lives in Seattle and we came to surprise him for his birthday in November. It was cloudy the entire time we were here for 4 days and rained a little bit here and there. It was a little cold so a light coat is needed and raincoat and umbrellas for sure since you never know when the rain might fall while walking around. We stayed downtown so we were able to walk to Pikes Peak Market or get to a Starbucks nearby. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. We ate at Din Tai Fung. Delish! Bakeries/pastries are a must to try! Bring a reusable bag if you can if you are planning on buying souvenirs. The water is always cold so you really can't swim even in the Summer time. But it sure is beautiful just to experience the Seattle city!

A great city with lots of entertainment options for sports, concerts, shows etc. And all are easily walkable from the Pike Market area. A very scenic, walkable city - easily one of my top favorite cities in America. Big but not too big.

I’ve visited a number of cities in the US and so far Seattle is my favourite, and being on the west coast also makes it easy coming from Australia. So many things to see and do within the city itself, all walking distance, and if you love food, there is so much to choose from. Make sure you have a Seattle Dog from Bonnie B’s, Mac n Cheese from Beechers and cultured yogurt from HELLENIKA.

Things we recommend in Pike Place Market; Piroshky, a small bouquet of flowers for your hotel room, Daily Dozen for coffee, tea and doughnuts, and so many stalls with beautiful artwork, glasswork, and native american artwork and beading. A lively and fun atmosphere! The Underground Tour, Bill Speidel's - outstanding. The Pink Door - make reservations, for any meal; we celebrated our 40th anniversary complete with a complimentary carrot cake to share. The Can Can for a show and/or meal and they have an incredible cocktail and absinthe selection. We bought a city pass (3 sites) so we visited the Chihuly and MoPop and ate at the restaurants in both. Prices were comparable to other Seattle restaurants, maybe a bit cheaper, and the food was unique and delicious. And the Space Needle - pricey so still on the fence of worth the visit or not. Nice gift shop, though. Getting around was easy - we walked. We Ubered a few times with a mobility challenged friend. We took in a comedy show at the Moore Theatre - hilarious. We saw a show at Unexpected Productions Improv - funny, with audience participation. We would love to see more shows and take a Seattle Architecture Foundation tour. Von's Sourdough pasta; although we were told there is always a bit of a wait, we had an unusually long wait for which we received aplogies and comps. - worth the wait! There was plenty more to see and do but we ran out of time. We hope to visit again.

Great city with beautiful nature and architecture.

Great city with beautiful nature and architecture. The overwhelming history! The more you know, the more you want to learn! Also, some places are overestimated. I won't recommend some parks as they are dirty and full of homeless people. The famous Olympic Park has sculptures, that we found mockingly simple and not eye-catching.

I am very thankful to the staff because despite I made a mistake with the reservation (all my fault), they readily help me fix it. The room was very spacious and nice: it had a small kitchen too, Everything was new and very clean. The location was convenient: walking distance from the "Westfield mall". It is also close to the Sea-tac airport and 30min by car to Seattle downtown
