We had an unbelievably wonderful time at In Toto Retreat in Sedgefield, and it went by far too quickly. After a few very busy days in Cape Town and Hermanus, our stay here was exactly what we needed. From the very first second, we felt completely at home. The location on the “island” is simply stunning and wonderfully peaceful. A big thank-you again to Renée, who was the perfect host and shared so many great tips about the area—thanks to her, we even got to enjoy the best cheesecake around. 😋 One morning after breakfast, we took the kayak out to explore the beautiful lagoon from the water. They also offer free bikes and SUP boards, which we’ll happily try on our next visit—because our stay was far too lovely not to come back!

"The Flat" is an absolute gem!! It is just the perfect mix of fairy vibes, with all the comfort you need! Sheelo went over and above being an incredible host, and has put a lot of effort in to make it a real home away from home! The setting looking out over the trees and listening to the birds makes you feel like you could be in a little forest! The Flat has everything you need for a short one night trip or even a longer stay, and if there would be anything you're lacking (which there wouldn't!) Sheelo would definitely go out of her way to assist. Amazing energy, beautiful vibe, a little haven! Looking forward to this being my new gem to visit again and again when I'm up this side, Thanks so much for your beautiful energy 🌟

The property is extremely clean and very well maintained,great value for money . Comfortable bedding ,plenty towels and little touches like chocolate, teas ,coffee and hot chocolate ,spacious . We only stayed a night but it lends itself to longer stays …a home away from home . Nya the host was very friendly.

Great place for a week end especially in summer.

Great place for a week end especially in summer. Adequate shops, coffee shops etc. Nice fish n chips, restaurants and lots of lovely places nearby like Wilderness Knysna etc. Lovely drives up the hills. Views beautiful, riding bikes fine. Walks to Gerickes point.

The number of bergies or street people hanging at the SPAR...

The number of bergies or street people hanging at the SPAR and surrounding area for the size of town was disconcerting. Nearly had an incident regarding the snatch of a cell phone. Wonderful little town with good restaurants and upkeep of paths and benches wonderful to see. Clear marking of dog friendly beaches helpful.

Sedgefield is a hidden gem, often overlooked by visitors to the Garden Route. Most people only visit the popular markets on Saturdays, but do not know about the spectacular beaches or the stunning river mouth and estuary. The town also offers excellent eateries with a variety of dietary choices. Overall, the town is also quite safe and not too touristy.

It was a very relaxing stay.

It was a very relaxing stay. We loved the tranquillity and the natural surroundings with beautiful bird sounds. The views over the lake and the mountains were spectacular. The unit itself was very comfortable and I loved the indoor heated pool.

It was a lovely visit…Sedgefield has a lot more to offer...

It was a lovely visit…Sedgefield has a lot more to offer than first thought and is so beautiful..took a drive and couldn’t believe how beautiful the houses and beaches were and ate at a really amazing restaurant on the beach. Went to the Saturday Market which spectacular!

The tranquility, beautiful views and sounds of the birds, sums up Sedgefield in our book. Plus the amazing sunrises and sunsets. The accommodation at Karios on the Lake was outstanding, extremely comfortable. A fully equipped kitchen made it a pleasure to do self-catering. The hosts Penny and Warren became friends, and we will definitely meet up with them again.

I have been to many places in South Africa, but I have never been so satisfied with any place as Ria's Rest. Extremely quiet cottage, very very clean, extremely friendly owner and her family... Oh, and there are two super cute puppies. I booked four nights but ended up having to add an extra night because everything was so perfect. If I didn't have to go back to work, I would have stayed another week. If I go to Knysna or Sedgefield again, I will definitely stay at Ria's Rest again 100% recommended.

Thus is really a great place to unwind for a weekend or a couple of days. Situated ontop of a mountain so there are stunning views of Sedgefield going up to the resort and then great views from your braai area or bed. There are three accommodation huts with seperate but private kitchen and abloution with a shower basin and toilet. The entire unit(s) were exceptionally clean on arrival with everything you require provided. We will definitely be back

The accommodation offered everything you required, the beds are comfortable and all around very clean. The view is spectacular and the sounds of nature the only sound arround. Close to Buffelsbaai, Knysna and Sedgefield beaches I recommend it to anyone who needs to recharge their batteries, it was magic.
