So much to see, but chilled atmosphere that means you can relax too. We barely scratched the surface with our few days here. Uber was a great way to get around for wine tasting (or just a glassette with dinner) and the scenery is fantastic.

I would highly recommend a visit to Stellenbosch. It is a beautiful small university town with nice trees, trails, shops and restaurants. The wineries are excellent. It is such a nice atmosphere after the hustle and bustle of Cape Town. It is easy to walk or bike around the town. Feels safe and welcoming. We had a wonderful time on a bicycle wine tasting tour that included history of the town - highly recommend

Stellenbosch is for people who love wine and food.

Stellenbosch is for people who love wine and food. Or for those that like hiking. You have lots of choice for restaurants we loved the lasagne at Ginos. But we enjoyed Java it has a nice ambiance and the food variety was great. Portions are on the larger size. Great menu and great food. We did the Franschhoek tram wine tasting which we enjoyed. A visit to the car museum in Franschhoek is good if you are in to cars it only takes about an hour to go round but my husband enjoyed this.

A most delightful vibrant little town, one needs to remember it is a student town, so if staying close to clubs and pubs, going to be a little noisy. Great shopping and eating experiences. Traffic quite crazy though.

For the foodies - you are just spoilt for choice with incredible restaurants all over the town. Beautiful vineyards, exquisite wine farms, you need a month to really see and do it all! Recommendations: hire e bikes and go for a ride. Jonkershoek reserve is magnificent. Incredible restaurants: Fat Butcher, Asta, Vendetta to name a few. Wonderful stores and everything so conveniently located.

Helpful and friendly staff, especially welcome/concierge/transport team. Lovely to have the main pool and smaller pool near the room as a quieter option. Deli always a highlight, Tiphuis restaurant less so

Located in central Stellenbosch the hotel was perfectly located for the cafes, shops etc. The manager, Themba, and staff were welcoming and attentive to everything we needed - from the beautiful breakfasts to arranging tours and drivers. The large rooms are beautifully and eclectically furnished with common rooms for lounging in.

The big plus of the spier hotel is that it is on their own wine farm. You can go on picnics, go to the restaurants, do wine tasting, go swimming, go to the spa, there is an abundance of activities to do. Plus the close proximity to stellenbosch adds to the list of todos.
