Exceptional place. The boutique house renovated into a little family hotel. The attitude of the owners: "our home - your home" was so so welcoming and warm. The breakfast lady, which was so so nice and even used a translator to speak with us, was the cherry on top. This one-night stay made our journey around Portugal unforgettable. Thank you very much!

Mr. Manuel is such an amazing host, he accepted my late check in, he went home and came back to bring me a phone charger that i needed and he even gave me a lift to the bus station the day after! The house is big and very comfortable to stay for more days! My room was big and clean and there is coffee or tea in the morning! Overall a lovely stay!

Extremely clean and tidy! Nuno is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about Sabugueiro and the customs of the region, as well as generous with his time. Good beds, good blankets, a lot of it fair trade. Sambuc'asa is warm in every way, and we can't recommend it strongly enough.

What a place! We have spent a lot of nights in different places, but never ever seen anything like this. The house is amazing, the welcome was better than anyone can expect. Right at the end of a dead end street in the most remote, tiny and quiet village, there is this beautiful restored house with breath taking views over the valley. Everything, but really everything was thought of and better than ever seen before. If you plan to go to this area, and you like remote places, this house is a must stay! The land lady (sorry, we forgot her name) lives just around the corner, and welcomed us with such a friendliness and passion for her house and the surroundings. I am sure we will be back one day.
