The location is a bit outside Elmina town, but close enough to walk. It also provides a panoramic view of town and castle. The a-la-carte breakfast menu was a pleasant surprise, and food was overall good and tasty. It's a new place which is beautifully furnished and decorated. In general, I have visited many resorts in the close Busua area (as well as many other resorts in Ghana), but Afro Beach is genuinely something completely different. It is a unique combination of place (calm, quiet, untouched), housing (new and done thoughtfully with a passion), and personal (especially the owner - Francis - who is one of the most interesting people I have met). His motto (that he wants people to be happy) is not just a phrase. He can provide anything you want, also walking with you to a party in Busua or to Butre and so on and so forth. So, don't hesitate to visit Afro Beach; even Francis' story and personality are entirely worthy of doing so.

Great location to everything on Oxford street. Welcoming, polite and accommodating staff and clean, comfortable rooms. We had an issue with our hot water on the first night which was attended to immediately by staff and rooms changed promptly. Staff were helpful with food and shopping recommendations near by. Thank you to Michael at the front desk who was exceptionally helpful to us! We will be back.
