The hotel has an excellent location on the lake, the view is breathtaking, the staff are respectful and helpful, the room is large and comfortable, the cleanliness is high, and the breakfast is varied and made to order.

The room was big, very clean, cosy. The breakfast was modest but ok.

Loved our stay here and will be back again. I will highly recommend this hotel. The staff are super warm and welcoming. The room was top class and the breakfast was delicious with plenty to choose from. You can’t go wrong. The location is great too with lots of caffès and restaurants on your door steps.

The place is excellent and has a great serene atmosphere, though top notch. The staff is super friendly and goes extra mile to help. The quality of materials and equipment is top notch, all new and easy to use, room and common area is super clean and tidy. The breakfast is excellent, nutritious and has many options. Moreover, there is also fruits and coffee available throughout the stay, 24/7. The location is great, calm and worth exploring around by foot. There are many nice places around, friendly to kids. Wile not in the city centre, it is just 20 minutes walk to the Buda castle, and transport network is good developed and can bring you anywhere. Definitely would love to stay again and it is a great value for money

Great location (30 seconds to the Basilica) and friendly, helpful service. Good breakfast and do not miss the wine and cheese served daily at 4pm (free for guests) with live music. A really pleasurable experience. Book the roof bar in advance, for an exceptional view.

We arrived at the hotel after a bit of a drive from the airport and were warmly greeted by the front desk staff. They made a short inquiry about our stay and gave us the best welcome, offering drinks and refreshments while providing recommendations for our visit. The front desk team kindly upgraded our room to a king-size suite, which was perfect for marking our special occasion. There was a lovely cake in the room, and all the staff were extremely warm and welcoming. The room was super spacious and had a lot of lovely lighting. Loved the green tiling and decor of the bathroom and the complimentary chocolates and champagne were a lovely touch. The room also had a gorgeous view of the Danube river. Loved the coffee and mini bites area in the morning which was perfect for a super busy day of exploring. We also had the full breakfast on a more relaxed day, which was also lovely. The area the hotel is based is on the Buda side which is relatively quieter and less busy than the Pest side. Wasn’t a big issue as it’s really easy to get to the other side. We had several interactions with Barney, who was very kind and attentive each time. Knew all the history of Budapest and gave us some evening recommendations like the ruin bars which we actually loved visiting. The spa facilities were brilliant for relaxing, refreshing, and resetting, and they certainly changed the vibe from the cold! Overall, it was a great stay with a fantastic team. We will definitely stay here again!

The atmosphere in the hotel is like visiting relatives. Very friendly. The weather was warm, so we opened the sauna and Jacuzzi earlier. The price includes an excellent breakfast and sauna. We quickly drove from the hotel to an amusement park with a bobsleigh track.

Newly opened and furnished with lot of attention to details with superior quality. Amazing!!

Every aspect, from A-Z, every single thing you could possibly come across was thought of beforehand and taken care of. To me it is important the hotel I'm staying breathes history: Matild palace integrates historical charm and modernity. The service surpassed that of any luxury hotel we have experienced, including those in Amsterdam and Paris. For instance. During check-out, I mentioned my disappointment that my sister could not visit the rooftop bar, 'The Duchess,' as she had retired early our last evening there - and before I could even finish my sentence, György offered us a private tour. If you plan on staying here do not forget to carve out some time for the spa, which is immaculate. We were particularly impressed by the facilities, which include not only a sauna but also a steam room and a Turkish hammam. Thank you for the wonderful stay. Selin Agdere
