This gorgeous, family-run manor house was full of charm and coziness -- truly nothing anodyne about it. The staff was so lovely and the food was phenomenal. We would return to southern Iceland just to stay here again.

The leisure spaces (bar, restaurant) are superbly fit and the services are impecabile, with some of the nicest personnel we have met in Iceland (the have made dinner reservations for us, presented us with complimentary drinks in our last night and so on).

Guest reviewWe were on a 2-week trip in Iceland for my hubby's 50th birthday and this was his favourite place. I don't think they knew it was his birthday but they treated us better than anywhere else. It is an impeccably-furnished, totally gorgeous historical guesthouse with wonderful staff, food and warmth. Our room was small but perfect and breakfast was delicious. The town itself is really lovely. Make sure you pre-book Sjavarpakkhusid (kind of opposite) restaurant for dinner - it was also glorious (see photos). Thanks for making this such a special stop on our Icelandic journey!
