Everything about our stay was wonderful and the hosts made sure that we had a great stay. The room was clean and has a powerful and hot shower. The balcony and pool have beautiful views and are perfect after a day exploring Dambulla and Sigiriya. Our hosts were happy to prepare whatever food we wanted, we asked for their choice and both nights it was delicious. Breakfast was also excellent, and plentiful! I wish we could have stayed longer than 2 nights!

The outdoor space, with its stunning views, breakfast was superb, was especially amazing. This stay was a great experience! The accommodation is a beautiful oasis, and the cottage was very modern and clean. Communication online was good. Leel adviced us to do an afternoon safari instead of morning. Happy we listened to him! We saw around 40 elephants, a crocodile and many other animals. The food prepared by Leels mother was the best we have had in Sri Lanka, both dinner and breakfast. Such a lovely woman! The driving that Leel arranged was in a modern, compact minivan, with belts and aircondition. Driven by his nephew in a safe manner. He picked us up in Ella, and drove us to Yala. The day after he also drove us to next location. Incredibly kind. Bring bug spray!!

Excellent budget accommodation in udawalawa. Our double room was basic but clean with fresh towels and necessary things.

Everything at Amba Kola was exceptional - especially the people. Louise, Janik, and Janik’s whole family are the loveliest people you will meet. The food is fantastic - everything is locally sourced and prepared with the finest spices and lots of love (Janik’s mom is an award-winning cook by the way). At Amba Kola the hosts will go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. They took us around in their safari jeep to see the elephants and wildlife and we even went swimming in the canal! The room (and the whole property) are lovely with so many personal touches to it. Louise is an artist and her art is present all over the place! Also, the outdoor bathroom is unique. I showered in the dark under the stars - an experience like no other. All I can say is: Come to Amba Kola and see for yourself. These people deeply care for what they do and it shows in every aspect. You won’t be disappointed!

Incredibly attentive staff. We had swim after dark and they brought drinks to us poolside. Our son was to tired to wait for dinner so they set it up at our room instead. Thank you for the special & beautiful memories

Let me start by saying that the staff went over and beyond during our stay (and post-stay experience). We had a mishap at a nearby city and the staff promptly came down and provided us with support to get us out of a blunder. We also left an item behind when we proceeded to our next hotel, and they travelled 2 hours to courier the item to us. Really beyond thankful. Wonderful breakfast spread and dinner on request, and we also met the owner who was a generous host. The pool was impeccably clean and the room was spacious and comfortable.

Incredible staff, wonderful place, amazing and delicious breakfast and very hospitality peoples. The best place for holiday.
