Hotels in Peru

We staying in Five hotels on our trip to Peru, all were very nice but this one was the best, Absolutely exceptional. Hotel and facilities were immaculate, rooms were perfect and the staff were so nice. Would recommend this hotel 100%

I highly recommend this beautiful stay in such a special spot, it is not everyday that you wake up on a floating island surrounded by a beautiful lake. Joel & his wife Luz were extremely helpful & welcoming from day 1. I arrived on Sunday evening from Cuzco (Peru Rail) and Joel arranged a taxi to pick me up from the station to the small port (15soles) where he picked me up on his boat. The room is massive and beautifully decorated with glass windows. They prepared a nice dinner and gave me a hot water bottle as it’s very chilly at night although you have plenty of duvets and blankets and a heater to keep you warm. The next morning I woke up to a beautiful scenery and Joel and Luz lent me the traditional custom and took me around the totora boat to show me some of the other islands, the local school and they medical center (the doctors come only twice a week so for emergencies they have to head to Puno). We also stopped to collect some fish from his fishing net which was their lunch that day. I was initially planning on staying one night only however as Joel explained to me the story of the islanders, how they live and the very welcoming expedience I extended my trip by an extra night. If you want to experience the real Uros lifestyle, with a very welcoming family this is the one for you!

Personal service where literally nothing is too much trouble. Pretty much everything has been thought of to make your stay both relaxing and unique - and in the unlikely event that you need anything extra it will be provided with a smile and a flourish. Manager Roger manages to combine exemplary youthful energy and a friendly, charismatic demeanour with absolute professionalism and a customer service ethic that very, very few properties at any price point manage to deliver wherever they are in the world. He taught our daughter how to cook traditional Peruvian huancaina pasta sauce, talked for ages with our football-mad son about the history of local favourite club Cienciano de Cusco, got up at 4am to pack hot scrambled eggs and ham & cheese sandwiches into breakfast bags when we set off before dawn to hike to Machu Picchu, accompanied us on an impromptu guided walking tour to a local hummingbird sanctuary when we found ourselves with a spare afternoon, and personally escorted half our group 15km to Ollantaytambo railway station when our plans unexpectedly changed and the group had to split up. I cannot overstate the effort and creativity Roger put in to making sure that every aspect of the stay was perfect (nor how rare that is these days). The rooms (or “domes”) are every bit as comfortable and well-appointed as a high-end four- or five-star hotel room. Every one has a private garden and terrace, as well as an exterior hot tub that Roger will fill and set up for you whenever you want. There are only six domes in all, and the clever way they are laid out in the immaculate gardens (complete with hummingbirds), means it feels like you essentially have the place to yourself. The view from the beautifully furnished panoramic dining room that dominates the Sacred Valley is superb. The same can be said about everything we ate and drank at Miski Samay, all of which was expertly prepared fresh for us by Roger himself or his outstanding chef.

This property is amazing! Such a beautiful and peaceful area, the accommodation was very comfortable, clean, and luxurious. Breakfast was made to order by an onsite cook. Bathroom was nice and clean, soap is provided. Location is great - right beside the trail leading to the Gocta waterfall. All in all I highly recommend.

Location was great, extra few pounds for a breakfast was worth every penny. Staff was great and so friendly and helpful. Even recommended places worth visiting in the area.

Absolutely beautiful place, an oasis of peace and calm after the hectic city of Iquitos. It felt like a secret jungle hideout, tucked away down a tributary of the Amazon. The hosts were adorable and treated me like family, cooking delicious meals for me, even taking good care of me when I was a bit poorly with a head-cold. I don’t speak a word of Spanish, yet we managed to communicate just fine and even had some interesting conversations! Thanks also to Enrique, my jungle guide, who took me on a fascinating kayak tour. This time of year the whole area is flooded, so it almost feels like staying on a boat! But there were also kayaks available if I wanted to get out and explore. Although for me I was quite content to relax, meditate and soak up the good vibes. Thank you Liseth and Wiler - I will certainly be back if I ever return to the area.

After 4 weeks travelling around Peru we came to El Samay and it was just perfect. From the warm welcome from Marianne when we arrived to the moment we left it was the best way to spend 4 nights of peace and quiet in the most beautiful setting. The staff were all fantastic, Veronica was on the end of whatsap should we need any help with absolutely anything and we were very sad to leave this morning. The area is super peaceful - perfect to unwind, swim in the sea and the beautifully clean pool and to just sit on our balcony watching humpback whales ( I saw 7 in three days - keep your eyes peeled ) was magical. The food was great , being brought a 7.30am coffee each morning was such a treat and I would definitely stay here again. Thanks again for a wonderful few days.

OMG - probably the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Everything is immaculate - building, location, breakfast, staff, services. Don't forget to visit their private church in the building. Kudos to David for very interesting organic coffee presentation. Everyting was perfect - there is not enough space here to list all positives.

Prior to our visit the communication had been clear and easy. We arrived late, as we had predicted, and we were shown to our room without a problem. The family business is in Cuispes which is a bit remote but easy to find. The room was large and comfortable with a great shower. Wifi worked fine and breakfast was delicious

Hotel In a historical building. Nice, cozy! We had a large room. They brought us complimentary tea with different delicious Peruvian desserts. Comfortable beds, wonderful bath and shower. Beautiful garden inside the hotel. Excellent breakfast with fresh products. We will definitely return to this hotel.
