Guest reviewWhat a wonderful off grid experience. Staying with Joel and Luzy is a must do! They are fabulous hosts and make your stay so easy and memorable. They have 3 rooms and we enjoyed a 2 night stay in the larger family room. The beds are super comfy, loads of blankets and a hotwater bottle is delivered after dinner. Room has a gas heater too but we didn’t use it. There is lots of furniture inside and out to relax on. Luzy cooks a great breakfast of fruit and juice, coffee and omelettes with avocado . We ate dinner there both nights. The food is simple home cooked , tasty and fresh. I am gluten free and Luzy accommodated me brilliantly. There was always a thermos of hotwater on request for making tea and coffee. They even had a bottle of wine to sell to us. Joel transfers from the mainland to and from the island and we also did a 2 hour tour around the Uros Island community. Joel was knowledgeable and showed us the best highlights. While I have eluded to off grid it should be noted that you are on a floating island!! There is a compost loo and shower water is from the lake and solar heated. There is no wifi but my own data worked well.

Guest reviewThis property is amazing! Such a beautiful and peaceful area, the accommodation was very comfortable, clean, and luxurious. Breakfast was made to order by an onsite cook. Bathroom was nice and clean, soap is provided. Location is great - right beside the trail leading to the Gocta waterfall. All in all I highly recommend.

Guest reviewPersonal service where literally nothing is too much trouble. Pretty much everything has been thought of to make your stay both relaxing and unique - and in the unlikely event that you need anything extra it will be provided with a smile and a flourish. Manager Roger manages to combine exemplary youthful energy and a friendly, charismatic demeanour with absolute professionalism and a customer service ethic that very, very few properties at any price point manage to deliver wherever they are in the world. He taught our daughter how to cook traditional Peruvian huancaina pasta sauce, talked for ages with our football-mad son about the history of local favourite club Cienciano de Cusco, got up at 4am to pack hot scrambled eggs and ham & cheese sandwiches into breakfast bags when we set off before dawn to hike to Machu Picchu, accompanied us on an impromptu guided walking tour to a local hummingbird sanctuary when we found ourselves with a spare afternoon, and personally escorted half our group 15km to Ollantaytambo railway station when our plans unexpectedly changed and the group had to split up. I cannot overstate the effort and creativity Roger put in to making sure that every aspect of the stay was perfect (nor how rare that is these days). The rooms (or “domes”) are every bit as comfortable and well-appointed as a high-end four- or five-star hotel room. Every one has a private garden and terrace, as well as an exterior hot tub that Roger will fill and set up for you whenever you want. There are only six domes in all, and the clever way they are laid out in the immaculate gardens (complete with hummingbirds), means it feels like you essentially have the place to yourself. The view from the beautifully furnished panoramic dining room that dominates the Sacred Valley is superb. The same can be said about everything we ate and drank at Miski Samay, all of which was expertly prepared fresh for us by Roger himself or his outstanding chef.

Guest reviewOur five-day and five-night experience at Monasterio, A Belmond Hotel, Cusco was undoubtedly the most beautiful and unique part of our two-week trip to Peru! The hotel environment is elegant and beautiful, with a rich and diverse breakfast that is exquisitely delicious. I couldn't resist having a large bowl of beef broth every morning! The thoughtfully provided room oxygen and 24-hour self-service hot tea helped us quickly overcome altitude sickness and fully enjoy our trip. Additionally, the most impressive and grateful part was the hotel's sincere, thoughtful, and enthusiastic high-quality service. When we reported the noise from nearby staff working at night, the hotel manager Giuliana Garzon and front desk supervisor Miguel Leiva immediately addressed the issue. They kindly upgraded us to a deluxe suite for free to compensate for our minor inconvenience. Sunlight streamed into the room through the lush courtyard, warmly spreading over the soft and comfortable bed... Everything was so peaceful and beautiful, like a scene from a movie. The perfect rest and relaxation completely erased our travel fatigue. Tasting the delicious desserts and fragrant Inca tea sent by the hotel, I wished time could stop at that moment! During those days, manager Giuliana Garzon and front desk supervisor Miguel Leiva constantly cared for our needs, providing us with many unexpected, attentive arrangements. We spent an extremely enjoyable and unforgettable few days. They also noticed my husband's birthday and arranged a delightful Italian opera dinner for us on his special day! Everyone wished him a happy birthday, and when we returned to our room, there was a birthday cake with lit candles waiting for us! We felt so happy and cherished by the thoughtful attention! Believe me, the hotel is not just a resting place during your trip; its architecture, courtyard, facilities, and excellent service deserve to be seen as a must-visit, unique, and stunning attraction in Cusco!
