The staff were incredibly friendly, and the chef deserves a special mention, his food was delicious, and he’s truly a wonderful person. Highly recommend this place!

Guest reviewEverything was amazing. We received an exceptional welcome, the food was healthy and delicious, and we got all the assistance we needed for touring. My kids loved the lodge and all the activities they experienced, including cruising on Lake Kivu, swimming, enjoying the fishermen experience, and of course, playing cards. We had an unforgettable time. The owners, Aicha and Ivan, are incredibly kind and caring. It was a wonderful vacation. Umurobyi is a peaceful and quiet place - with a great view, perfect for relaxing and unwinding.

Guest reviewBumpy, dirt road to the facility is worth to travel to reach this gem. Friendly staff, excellent and well priced food, overall impeccable cleanliness. Rooms in the form of bungalows with lake view (just 20 m away from the shore), with tea and coffee making facilities. You wake up to the sound of birds and fishermen singing in their boats. Paradise for bird watchers. Calm and relaxing - strongly recommended!

There was hot water and the shower was great. I can honestly not fault a single thing. It is a really peaceful environment.

Guest reviewAlphonsine and Alexis are very friendly and interesting owners sharing their little paradise. Tents are a perfect mix between adventure and luxury providing hot enclosed shower, comfortable beds with mosquitoes nests and a private hidden terrace to chill. Surroundings are peaceful and authentic. Jean d'Amour tours and hikes are very professionnaly driven and remain one of our best expérience in whole Rwanda. Cant recommend this place enough !

Guest reviewFirstly, of the last 10 km offroad, only last 2 kms is really bad..but still manageable..can be done via 2wd also, but not in rainy or muddy season. Now coming to the property, its really a hidden paradise..the moment you enter you are mesmerised by the views of the lake and serenity around..rooms are large, spacious and self sufficient with fridge, kettle, tea etc. The owner Philipe, is really a gentleman and a great story teller..u can talk to him for hours without getting bored..all the staff is really nice and the chef cooks amazing meals...there are many activities also that can be donesuch as kayaking, boat tripa to nearby islands etc, or jst swim in the lake in case u dnt want to do anything.. If given a chance, would love to stay here more frequently.
