Staying at this tented resort has been one of the most amazing experiences we’ve ever had. Everything here is incredibly well thought out, from the stunningly designed accommodations to the impeccable hospitality. The rooms are beautifully decorated with tasteful furniture, creating a luxurious yet cozy atmosphere. The beds are extremely comfortable, and every detail, from the amenities to the overall design, has been crafted to perfection. The quality of the tents is exceptional—completely secure and well-sealed, meaning we didn’t encounter a single insect inside. What really sets this place apart, however, is the staff. We have never been welcomed with such warmth and genuine friendliness. They went above and beyond to make our stay perfect, always ready to assist with any request. Their attention to detail, especially regarding food allergies, was remarkable—they really walked the extra mile to ensure we had safe and delicious meals. The team was always cheerful, smiling, and incredibly kind to our baby, making us feel like part of a family rather than just guests. The resort offers a variety of activities, making it an ideal place for nature lovers and adventurers. There are multiple guided hikes where a knowledgeable staff member accompanies you, sharing insights about the surrounding villages, mountains, rice fields, and local traditions. It’s an immersive experience, far from anything overly touristy. This place feels like a sanctuary—peaceful, authentic, and deeply connected to nature. The food is outstanding—healthy, fresh, and mostly organic. Many of the ingredients are homegrown, including the salads and spices, adding an extra touch of authenticity to every meal. In the evenings, the open-air cinema with a bonfire creates a magical atmosphere. This resort is a hidden paradise, and we cannot wait to return.

Loved everything, the space , the location, the view.

Very luxurious and beautiful. Everything is brand new. Absolutely recommend to stay here, if you are looking for a private comfortable luxury stay at a good price. Also, staff at reception is very helpful and kind.

Stayed at this homestay for a night on our way to Bangkok. Received a warm welcome from the hosts and they are really nice people! They drove us to a nearby restaurant so we could have some dinner and the restaurant owners drove us back after finishing the meal, neat! The rooms are adequately sized and come with all the necessary amenities. There is also a small minibar, alternatively there is a 7-Eleven nearby. The bed is quite hard for my taste, but we felt that nearly all other places we stayed at in Thailand had hard beds too, so it might just be a thing around here! In the morning we got a shuttle to the airport by the owner which was really nice of them! Great value for your money!

Bura Resort is an absolute slice of paradise, attuned to nature and attuned to Guests. Hosts Jazz & Nui have created something very special, with beautifully-crafted private Villas privately spread around the meandering, magnificent, quiet waterfall property. Birdsong and joy and pleasantness every moment, everywhere you look! On the practical side: I was in Villa A2 which featured a deep bathtub in the large bathroom in addition to the amazing rainshower; a large desk perfect for the needs of my work-while-travelling; lovely comfortable lounge area; big bed; useful amenities; and a gorgeous patio beside the water. The daily Housekeeping was thorough. The on-site restaurant offers a broad menu for foreigners and Thai's, with choice of fabulous dining room or in-room dining options. Hosts Jazz & Nui provided a free shuttle when asked to the closest daily food market, and to a Tuesday night food market bazaar. They were also happy to help me get to the chilled city area too, at the same cost as a typical Thai taxi app. Airport pick-up and drop-off was hassle-free. There's authentic street-food a short walk downhill, and a café with heavenly views just uphill. I live in Bangkok full-time, and Bura Resort in Chiang Rai is my new escape! Can't wait to return. Very highly recommended.

The name “Above the Clouds” couldn’t be more perfect, the place really sits high up on the mountain with stunning views of the whole city from the terrace. The couple who runs it is incredibly warm and helpful, even giving us the best directions since Google maps doesn’t always show the easy route. The food and high tea were fantastic, and we loved the little touches like the swing in the garden where we would sit in the evenings. The property is brand new, spotless, and beautifully done, with plenty of parking and even reliable WiFi (which I really appreciated in such a remote spot).

Amazing hotel. 5/5. Everything was spotless and tidy. They had a lovely outdoor pool aswell as a nice place to relax in the sun. The staff were really friendly and super helpful. They gave us a lift to pier for free and told us loads of beautiful places to eat, see and explore. Couldnt recommend enough. Very very pleasant Stay
