Guest reviewHighly recommended! Our experience in the African Paradise started with very warm greetings by the hosts with drinks and snack! :) The room was big and clean. The hosts and staff were extremely nice and helpful. In the hotel there is restaurant with very good food and decent portions in good prices. Kayaks and bicycle are available on place for free. The hotel is not far from Paje which can be accessed by the walk on the beach or more advantageously by Dala-Dala! :) (good short trip for first Dala-Dala experience ;) The hospitality is exceptional - we went for the trip early morning and get breakfast packed ready at 6:00 am! After we were back we got again full breakfast! :) The hosts are always around trying to make you happy! You can truly relax and feel safe and welcome as in your own home :) wonderful experience!

Guest reviewWe were looking for a genuine homely place that will give us thw true feeling of Zanzibar. We didnt want to be in a big hotel where we are just a number and our stay was amazing. Max the owner is true gem in hospitality, he really loves hosting and giving you the true Zanzibar experience, the staff is also nice & if you looking to be treated as if you are home Babalao is the place. Theres also great Resturants that Max recommended and we tried them...our favourite was Barack and the "fresh from the sea" seafood barbaque on the beach is an amazing experience. Theres tons of activities at your doorstep and you spoiled for choice and come back to your home fully welcomed and its peaceful like a small "big" family. Thanks Max and your lovely wife for giving us the true Zanzibar holiday experience.

Guest reviewWhat makes Palmera so special is its inspiring mission. The hotel and restaurant operate as a hospitality school for local young women, and the exceptional service they provide is a direct reflection of their training. From their warm smiles to their impeccable attention to detail, you can feel the genuine pride they take in their work. The hotel's setting is pure paradise. The infinity pool overlooking the turquoise sea is mesmerizing, and the lush, immaculately kept gardens create a perfect oasis for relaxation. It was wonderful to be able to walk barefoot through the fine sand and simply enjoy the tranquility. For anyone, but especially for vegans, the restaurant is a must-visit. The creative and delicious vegan dishes, all beautifully prepared and presented by the talented students, were a true highlight. It's a testament to the high-quality training they are receiving. The breakfast, in particular, was the best I had during my three-week stay in Tanzania, the homemade warm bread and homemade chocolate spread were unforgettable. For lunch and dinner, with main courses priced between $11 and $13, it offers exceptional value. This 15-room hotel is a quiet retreat. I stayed when it was almost empty and had no issues with noise, but even when full, the large garden and pool area should provide plenty of space for guests. The price range for double rooms in the 2025 high season was 70-100 USD. All rooms face the sea, though the view can be a bit limited from some of the downstairs rooms. While the large windows are beautiful, the curtains don’t fully cover them, which could be a privacy concern for some. I prefer a firm mattress, and the bed was perfect for me, but it might be a bit too hard for others. The solar-powered hot water worked flawlessly. The road to the hotel is a little bumpy on the last kilometer, but there are plans to improve it. In the bathrooms, I would have appreciated a bit more space to dry towels, or a drying rack on the terrace.

Guest reviewMy wife and I visited Zanzibar for the first time in March 2025. We spent the first four days at the Infinity Boutique Hotel in Matembwe and were absolutely enchanted. I rarely give exceptional ratings, and certainly not for every checkbox, but this is exceptional to a degree that merits the rating. The property is new so everything is in excellent condition. It owned and managed by a couple that moved there from Poland to start the venture. Tomak and Margo are kind, warm, hospitable, and helpful hosts. My wife didn't have a hat for the harsh sun. Maggie loaned her one. There was a problem with a leak in our bathroom. Tomak ensured the problem was fixed quickly. I developed a slight sunburn on my head. Maggie brought aloe vera ointment without being asked. We did day trips to Ningwi and for snorkling near Mnemba Island. They organized everything and ensured flexibility to accommodate changing weather during the rainy season, when we were there (we recommend it). We were the only guests for one day and night. There was another couple on other days, but we really had the place to ourselves. It was tranquil and relaxing!! We were treated like family and felt that way. The bed was very comfortable. The AC is excellent. Excellent WiFi reception everywhere on the property. The views are breathtaking. I have marvelous sunrise pictures. The pool is spacious and was always available for a swim. The staff were cheerful, professional and very likeable. Several became friends. Sitting on the open-air covered terrace sipping a cold one and watching the tides roll in and out was our best memory of Zanzibar. The ocean is many shades of blue with white, fine sand. The meals were delicious. Chef Sultan made flawless dishes. Best fries I have ever had, including in Belgium.

Guest reviewThe welcome that Jennifer & I got from Rama (Manager) when we arrived was most impressive & it set the tone for our 5 day 4 night stay. All the staff were good mannered, friendly & professional. They went out of their way to make sure we were always comfortable and kept informed of the menus & activities. Ricardo & Vip (owners) were on hand each day to connect & checkin with us to see if we were enjoying the experience at their wonderful lodge. It certainly is an escape hideaway treasure, right on the beautiful Swahili coast in Pangani. A peaceful paradise, a place to relax with amazing sunrise views & waking each morning to the soothing sound of the birds dawn chorus. The bandas are beautifully prepared & furnished to the highest standards. Pangani Cliff Lodge is off-grid but has its own onsite state of the art Solar powered system with provides 24hour coverage which was most welcome to power lights, wifi & particularly the fans all through the hot balmy nights. We enjoyed exploring the amazing coral rock pools at low tide on their private beach & frolicking in the swimming pool every late afternoon before sundown. The meals were beautifully presented, varied & scrumptious. We thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing massages outdoor on the cliff top listing to the sounds of the ocean.

Guest reviewFabulous stay, great location and everyone super nice! We took trips and the staff/owners couldn't have been nicer. The image is from our Whale Shark excursion, I love it! Such a moody day but we reached and found these beautiful, gentle sea giants. 🤍🖤🤍

Guest reviewI recently stayed at this lovely little hotel, and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality by Il-Ham, who was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. She welcomed us with a smile, gave us a tour of the room, and made sure we felt right at home. The hotel itself is a peaceful and charming retreat, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The room was impeccably clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the amenities provided exceeded my expectations. The attention to detail in the room was exceptional – the romantic touch of a heart-shaped decoration and beautifully crafted towel swans on the bed made the experience truly special. The bathroom was equally well-prepared, with thoughtful amenities including toothbrushes and toothpaste, ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The meals were another highlight of our visit. Both breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious and generously portioned. Every dish was prepared with love, and we left the table each time feeling more than satisfied. If you’re looking for a quiet, intimate, and delightful place to stay, I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. The personalized service, the beautiful ambiance, and the thoughtful details made our stay unforgettable. I’m already looking forward to coming back!
