First and foremost, I love the mission of the Lodge. The fact that they work towards improvement for the Maasai women in the area is amazing. Second, the people working at the Lodge are terrific. Susan, in particular, makes you feel at home with good conversations and nice home-cooked meals. Third, the facilities are perfect. Everything you need is ready at hand and you get the perfect combination of authentic experience and comfort. I stayed in the tents, which are great if you’re travelling on a budget. They are affordable and comfortable with nice mattresses, duvets and mosquito nets. You also have toilet and bathing facilities in connection with the tents. The traditional Maasai huts were unfortunately fully booked but Susan was kind enough to show me one before I left. These look absolutely amazing with cozy beds and private washroom. I’ll definitely have to try them out next time! One of the highlights of the stay was the motorcycle safari. We drove out in the bush in the afternoon and experienced the most amazing sights of giraffes, elephants and zebras. We were even lucky enough to have a giraffe visit us inside the Lodge area!

We had a fantastic stay at the African Paradise Hotel. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The hosts were so kind and obliging..even going out of their way to be helpful and buying us special dietary foods. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff friendly. The breafasts were incredible and we were barely able to finish them they gave us so much food! im still dreaming about waking up to fresh mango juice every day! İts the details that make the hotel so nice and it feels like home. They lent us beach towels, snorkling gear and beach shoes….they were so kind it felt like staying with family. İf we ever return to Zanzibar i wouldnt stay anywhere else.

There is so much to say about this lovely hotel! The staff members are incredibly kind and always available to assist whenever you need them. They decorated our room for my fiancé’s birthday surprise and even offered us a small bento cake. It was so cute! Regarding the location, the hotel is only about 35 minutes from the airport and close to Paje, but it’s a bit far from the northern part of the island. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and offer a beautiful view of the pool and the beach — especially the Mafia 1 room. The food was delicious, and the scent inside the rooms was simply divine. I was in love with it! Even our clothes came back from the laundry smelling amazing. The spa is cute, and the massage was relaxing — I truly recommend it. The ladies there really know what they’re doing!

Everything was perfect! The location is very close to the beach- the nicest beach in Nungwi. Max and Elena are very nice, they helped us with tours organisation and anything we needed. The staff is very helpful and nice. Breakfast is good and tasty, also the food here is very good and affordable. We loved our stay here at Babalao Bungalows. I highly recommend staying here.

Exceptional, in every way. Room, service and food all brilliant. The hosts are lovely and this is a beautiful place to just chill out.

The food, the staff and owners made it feel like home.

This hotel combines a super friendly, chilled atmosphere with very good service. There are only 5 rooms so it feels like everyone knows each other and that the service is personalized. The rooms have great views and are literally 5-10 seconds from the beach. In the late afternoons the locals play football on the beach in a jovial mood so you get some of the local character while chilling in your own space. The locals also seemed to really respect the boundaries of this hotel and there was very little hassle on the beach. This is one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had. Highly recommended!

It's a really cozy hotel. The owner and the staff are excellent. The food was great. Angelina was there for us to answer any question and assist us. A special thanks to Jafari the bartender and Simon the chef who showed us the night life in Nungwi. We had a really good time at your bungalows. I hope we visit you again.

I stayed at Blue Moon Villa with my three children. We loved the place and it is very child friendly. The staff is so nice and helpful, the breakfast very nice and the location is just a short walk from the beach. We enjoyed Blue Moon Villa and the nearby beach so much that we changed our travel plans to come back to Blue Moon Villa.

This place is incredible! Perfect for someone who needs to recharge the batteries and unwind the mind. I have to start with staff, Jackie did a great job with keeping our comfort and happiness at highest level. Everyone is smiling, and ready to fulfill all your wishes. The restaurant offers delicious food. Even if we’re not vegetarians, we couldn’t wait to try something new. Room is tidy with beautiful see view. The garden is spacious, with many hidden places to relax. The staff is able to book many activities/taxi for you. On top of everything the hotel accommodates the school for young girls from disadvantaged families and by booking your stay you can support their mission. Thank you Nicola and Gian Luigi for your hospitality. I can definitely recommend the resort!!

The staff are truly outstanding, and the manager is incredibly kind and helpful. Make sure to bring water shoes and enjoy the stunning scenery during low tide. If you have your snorkel gear, try heading a bit further from the shore — you’ll discover lovely small coral formations surrounded by beautiful fish.
