Truly fantastic place run by amazing owners who make you feel at home. They say “this is your Zanzibar home” and one feels it at all levels (including the owners waking up at 3 o’clock in the morning just to make us the sandwiches and say good buy before our departure). I have never experienced in my entire holiday life so much attention, authentic care and positive energy as I did in the Paradise Beach Hotel. Amazing owners, great staff, beautiful apartment and peacefull location. We and our three boys loved being there and miss it already.

Babalao Bungalows has an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a shared lounge and terrace in Nungwi.
Our stay at Babalao was absolutely perfect. This place is clean, comfortable, quiet and above all SUPER RELAXED. It's a small place where staff is genuinely kind and caring without being fake or trying to sell you something, we could tell they like working there. We loved that there were no strict policies. We could have breakfast whenever we wanted (we are not morning people so this is amazing!), go into the pool late at night and they even let us do a late checkout without any charge. They also informed us of local prices for taxi, fruit, etc so we had a better idea of what a fair price is. There's unlimited tea, coffee and water, and they even let you take towels out to the beach. The beach is super close, just around the corner. Beds are comfy, massage is fantastic and there are also board games and books around for entertainment. Also there is a super friendly dog there that is just as chill as the owner - don't worry, she does not jump on you. There is also a sweet cat that loves cuddles but will leave you alone if you don't want to interact. Both of these animals are clearly pets, they don't live on the streets. For us this was a nice bonus as we love animals, but even if you are nervous, don't let this stop you from staying here. Babalao is very suitable for couples and solo travelers, but can also accommodate families - there even was a small birthday party for one of the guests. 😊

Pangani Cliffs Lodge has an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a private beach area and terrace in Pangani. There is a restaurant serving Seafood cuisine, and free private parking is available.
I have been living in Tanzania for a year, and I have never received such a warm and genuine welcome. The staff at Pangani Cliffs Lodge make you feel at home in the smallest details: your name beautifully written on the welcome board at reception, their readiness to meet any need, their kindness, and the care they put into every little thing. Everything was simply outstanding. The lodge is set in the heart of nature, with direct access to both a beautiful pool and an unspoiled beach. The food is delicious, the cleanliness is impeccable, and every corner of the property feels thoughtfully designed. I had mentioned to the staff that it would be my husband’s birthday and simply asked for a small candle. Instead, they surprised us with heartfelt birthday songs from the entire team and a personalized cake—such a touching and unforgettable gesture. From the breathtaking views to the warm smiles that greet you every day, Pangani Cliffs Lodge is truly a piece of paradise. We left with our hearts full, and I sincerely hope to return soon.

Situated in Pingwe, a few steps from Michamvi Pingwe Beach, Hekaya Zanzibar features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a private beach area.
Wonderful location, sea-view, outstanding African facilities, just 5 minutes away from the Rock restaurant but also with very good own kitchen. A lot of nice and comfy corners to just rest and do nothing. Great for a three to five days stay with or without family.

Located in Pwani Mchangani Mdogo, 700 metres from Pwani Mchangani Beach, Blue Moon Villa provides accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge.
I recently stayed at this lovely little hotel, and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality by Il-Ham, who was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. She welcomed us with a smile, gave us a tour of the room, and made sure we felt right at home. The hotel itself is a peaceful and charming retreat, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The room was impeccably clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the amenities provided exceeded my expectations. The attention to detail in the room was exceptional – the romantic touch of a heart-shaped decoration and beautifully crafted towel swans on the bed made the experience truly special. The bathroom was equally well-prepared, with thoughtful amenities including toothbrushes and toothpaste, ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The meals were another highlight of our visit. Both breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious and generously portioned. Every dish was prepared with love, and we left the table each time feeling more than satisfied. If you’re looking for a quiet, intimate, and delightful place to stay, I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. The personalized service, the beautiful ambiance, and the thoughtful details made our stay unforgettable. I’m already looking forward to coming back!

Set in Nungwi, 200 metres from Nungwi Beach, African Bungalows offers accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace.
The entire property is really well laid out, with trees around the pool that give it a really warm and intimate feeling but also provide much-needed shade if you burn easily like I do. The food area and swing seats are inviting and relaxing, so it's a real oasis. The rooms are light and comfortable with good air conditioning. They are also remarkably sound proof, with some of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in in Tanzania. The owners and staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful, and I love the resident kittens they have taken in. The food was good and breakfast was filling and tasty. It's well located in that the beach and shops are in very easy walking distance, but it isn't impacted by the hustle and bustle or the noise that is common in other venues. A really delightful find, we will certainly be back!

Located in Pwani Mchangani Mdogo, a few steps from Pwani Mchangani Beach, The Soul Zanzibar Beach Hotel & Spa provides accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a...
We had an amazing time at The Soul Zanzibar Beach Hotel & Spa, it’s a true sanctuary for those seeking both serenity and luxury. From the moment you arrive, the impeccable hospitality sets the tone, making you feel instantly relaxed in this beautiful part of Zanzibar. The private beach is perfect for peaceful sunrise strolls and quiet moments listening to the waves. The facilities are first-class, blending modern comfort with authentic island charm, whether you’re unwinding by the pool, pampering yourself at the spa, or enjoying yoga with an ocean view. What sets this destination apart is not just the natural beauty, but also the atmosphere of complete relaxation and exclusivity, you never feel rushed, crowded, or anything less than pampered. It's an ideal escape whether you’re celebrating, recharging, or simply looking for unforgettable moments by the sea. The experience was truly elevated by the wonderful staff, who were even more impressive and always greeting guests with warm smiles and attentive service from the moment you arrive. Their genuine care and personal touches made me feel instantly at home, transforming an already idyllic stay into something truly special. A special mention goes to the Manager, who went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt at home. She made it a point to personally check in on us, making sure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay. This caring touch made us feel even more relaxed and well looked after. Thank you so much, for your exceptional hospitality and dedication, you all truly made our experience unforgettable. You made our visit feel uniquely special and is a big reason why I’m eager to return and recommend this paradise to friends and I’m certain friends will fall in love Five stars hardly do it justice. Set in Dimbani, 800 metres from Kizimkazi Dimbani Beach, Palmera Zanzibar Eco Boutique Hotel offers accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a private beach...
What makes Palmera so special is its inspiring mission. The hotel and restaurant operate as a hospitality school for local young women, and the exceptional service they provide is a direct reflection of their training. From their warm smiles to their impeccable attention to detail, you can feel the genuine pride they take in their work. The hotel's setting is pure paradise. The infinity pool overlooking the turquoise sea is mesmerizing, and the lush, immaculately kept gardens create a perfect oasis for relaxation. It was wonderful to be able to walk barefoot through the fine sand and simply enjoy the tranquility. For anyone, but especially for vegans, the restaurant is a must-visit. The creative and delicious vegan dishes, all beautifully prepared and presented by the talented students, were a true highlight. It's a testament to the high-quality training they are receiving. The breakfast, in particular, was the best I had during my three-week stay in Tanzania, the homemade warm bread and homemade chocolate spread were unforgettable. For lunch and dinner, with main courses priced between $11 and $13, it offers exceptional value. This 15-room hotel is a quiet retreat. I stayed when it was almost empty and had no issues with noise, but even when full, the large garden and pool area should provide plenty of space for guests. The price range for double rooms in the 2025 high season was 70-100 USD. All rooms face the sea, though the view can be a bit limited from some of the downstairs rooms. While the large windows are beautiful, the curtains don’t fully cover them, which could be a privacy concern for some. I prefer a firm mattress, and the bed was perfect for me, but it might be a bit too hard for others. The solar-powered hot water worked flawlessly. The road to the hotel is a little bumpy on the last kilometer, but there are plans to improve it. In the bathrooms, I would have appreciated a bit more space to dry towels, or a drying rack on the terrace.
