The hotel was spectacular - the location, room, service, and staff. We went to Paternoster as part of our honeymoon and Strandloper was the perfect choice, and we were well looked after by the amazing staff. We spent about 3 weeks in South Africa and I can say that was the best place we stayed in. The estate is the old 17th-century winery that was converted to guest houses. Beautiful surroundings combined with modern comfort, you can't go wrong here. Everything was exceptional, the location, the amenities, the size and the comfort of the rooms. The rooms have heated flour which was very important for us since we travelled in the winter with pretty cold nights. The breakfast consisted of a cold buffet style and a hot from the menu. I got eggs benedict with cauliflower hash browns and smoked salmon and it was outstanding. They serve superb guano jam that is made on the estate. I would recommend this hotel and I am sorry that we didn't stay longer.

We had the pleasure of staying at a truly stunning property. The attention to detail throughout the space was out of this world, with every corner thoughtfully designed. The décor in the rooms is absolutely breathtaking, creating such a warm and stylish atmosphere. To top it off, the host was incredibly warm and welcoming, which made our stay feel even more special. Highly recommended!

This assessment is arguably bizarre. Notwithstanding we were not able to stay overnight at the lodge, we still want to give a (very good) review. On the day before our arrival, there was a particularly severe thunderstorm. As a result, the electricity supply around the lodge was destroyed. We were informed of this by the owners who assured us that everything was being done to repair it as soon as possible. When we were on our way to the lodge the next day, another particularly heavy thunderstorm broke out. We were informed by the owners that - due to the heavy rains - the road to the lodge was very dangerous (and that electricity had not yet been restored). Kyla assured us that it was dangerous to drive on to the lodge and that everything would be paid back. We were kept on point about the weather conditions and were able to find another overnight stay away from the thunderstorms. The refund was -as promised- carried out correctly. Thanks for everything - we will visit next year and hopefully the weather will be nice then ;-)
