Hotel Makanda by the Sea, a luxurious adults-only retreat nestled in the lush tropical paradise of Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. The whole environment was simply fabulous! The room, our terrace, the pools, the service and the food... everything was just perfect. Even nature was on our side with a sloth on the premises and a whale jumping in the distance.!! Walking around can be a challenge due to steep walk ways. But the Hotel is offering internal transport services.

From the terrace of our room, we enjoyed the sounds of birds and even spotted a toucan. Mauriel was incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, and the pool was clean and very relaxing.

The hotel itself is charming, very clean, and well-maintained, creating a relaxing and inviting atmosphere. The facilities were excellent, and we especially loved the pool, which our 4-year-old daughter enjoyed immensely. The food was another highlight of our stay. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, with a variety of options and a staff that ensured every meal was a pleasant experience. The location of the hotel is unbeatable. It’s just a short walk to both the beach and the entrance to Manuel Antonio National Park, making it extremely convenient for exploring the area. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Dit hotel biedt gratis WiFi en ligt in de jungle, op slechts 2 minuten te voet van het strand van Manuel Antonio en 15 minuten wandelen van het Nationaal Park Manuel Antonio. As soon as we stepped out of the car we knew we arrived somewhere special. Howler monkeys greeting us from the trees was a great welcome. The location of the hotel is fantastic, the restaurant was terrific, and the pool is exactly what we needed coming back to cool off in the hotel. Great vibes all around, would definitely recommend. Also saw from the hotel a sloth and squirrel monkeys that came down to the restaurant so we could see them from upfront
