Het romantische Abbeyglen Castle Hotel ligt in een prachtige tuin in het hart van Connemara. Het biedt tennisbanen, een bubbelbad en een prachtig uitzicht op Clifden en de Twelve Bens-bergen. De ware welkom door Brian en de geanimeerde voorstelling van de geschiedenis van het Castle hotel en de streek door de broer tijdens de 'prosecco reception'. Het veeltalig aanwezige personeel doet er alles aan om je verblijf aangenaam en uitzonderlijk te maken. De Florentine eggs bij het ontbijt zijn voortreffelijk.

Buttermilk Lodge offers self-catering apartments 5 minutes' walk from Clifden town centre, you can just park your car and easily walk to town. Exceptionally high standard of guest accommodation, absolute comfort, attention to every detail, comfortable furniture, spacious rooms, beautiful furnishings, artwork, small details that received very careful attention. I have travelled in over 30 countries, have stayed in many B&Bs and occasionally in 5-star hotels, but never found a place that equalled the careful thought that has been put into the accommodation at Buttermilk Lodge in Clifden. We will certainly return and we have taken the business cards provided to share with all our friends. Having a private lounge/kitchen in addition to ensuite bedroom was wonderful, with large TV in both rooms. Our hostess, Catriona, had left very welcome food in the frig -including orange juice, milk, plenty of butter, jam and marmalade - and we greatly appreicated her home-made brown bread and fruitcake - which was really thoughtful and generous. The fact that Buttermilk Lodge provides conditions for self catering in a private lounge with fully equipped kitchen, made our stay less expensive than if we were eating out every day. This accommodation is very conveniently located to Clifden town and access to all the wonders of the Connemara landscape and coastal resorts.

The Alcock and Brown hotel in Clifden is a central and cosy hotel offering a dedicated welcoming service in a relaxed atmosphere. I had a great stay at the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff at reception were very friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. Good location.

Connemara Sands Hotel & Spa ligt in Mannin Bay, op slechts 10 minuten rijden van Clifden. Het biedt een privéstrand. De accommodatie beschikt over gratis WiFi en u kunt er gratis parkeren. The family suite was perfect with its terrace and picturesque views, not to mention direct access to the tennis court. It had a nespresso machine (capsules), tea-making facilities and a large bottle of water in the fridge daily. It also had a large smart TV with Netflix, YouTube, etc. Great wifi connection. The Staff were very welcoming, smiling, helpful and discreet. Breakfast was one of the best we've ever had! Top marks for the food and its beautiful presentation in general! Excellent location; 10 mins from Cliften and close to Roundstone, Kylemore Abbey, the 12 Bens/Pins, Inisbofin and Omey islands and several beautiful beaches such as Mannin Bay Blueway Beach, Gurteen Beach and Dog's Bay (Roundstone). The hotel beach is breath-taking - we spent our mornings there looking for all kinds of shells, crabs, jellyfish, etc. We all loved it! We used the Spa and the Sauna which was overlooking the beach/sea. It's a perfect hotel for a family, romantic getaway or for a break away from the stress of life. You are bathed in peace, quiet, nature and tranquillity!
