Ryokan Asunaro: A Traditional Japanese Inn in Takayama. Nestled just a 6-minute walk from Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Center, Ryokan Asunaro offers an authentic Japanese inn experience. We spent Christmas Day here. Very traditional, clean and welcoming. The photos on Booking.com did not do this place justice. Staff were helpful, and offered advice about the local market. How to use the Onsen and etiquette about shoes/slippers and provided traditional wear whilst staying at the Ryoken everyone wore them, regardless of nationality, which made the evening meal very special. The 13 course dinner was really a whole experience that we won’t forget. We opted for the Japanese breakfast, again beautifully presented with a lot of food. All food was produced locally which was great too. Lots of art and historical pieces to browse and staff happy to talk you through. Rooms were comfortable clean and traditional. We had room 311 which was a family room with a bedroom and matted area where futons were laid out for additional guests. The room was large enough for us to accommodate 6 adults for after dinner drinks. Was really close to the train and bus station and we caught the ski shuttle bus and went skiing for the day. Very much one of the best parts of our stay.

The hosts did a lot to accommodate us and gave a very good service. We received some tea on arrival and some nice gifts upon departure and during our stay we could taste local sake and plum wine.

Het Sumiyoshi Ryokan ligt op slechts 1 minuut lopen van de populaire Miyagawa-ochtendmarkt midden in Takayama en biedt huiselijke accommodatie in Japanse stijl in een historisch herenhuis. Alles was perfect! De familie is extreem vriendelijk en gastvrij. We voelden ons meteen thuis.

Located in the centre of Takayama Historic District, Ryokan Tanabe 旅館田邊 is one of the most historical ryokans in the city. It features Japanese-style rooms and free WiFi in all areas. Amazing place! Food was great, staff were so nice 🙏🙏🙏 Best Value for money in Japan !

Situated at the heart of historic Takayama Old Town and just steps away from Takayama Jinya Morning Market, the traditional Honjin Hiranoya Kachoan offers personalised hospitality, hot spring baths... Het is een heel mooi hotel. Esthetisch en tot in de puntjes verzorgd. Het personeel is aardig en zeer behulpzaam. Wij hadden een ruime tot grote kamer (suite). Heerlijk. De locatie was ook heel goed.

Het Chaya Hotel ligt op slechts 40 meter van Magome-Juku, een gerestaureerd poststadje uit het Edo-tijdperk. Het biedt eenvoudige traditionele kamers met futonbedden en tatami-matten op de vloer. Eten en heel vriendelijk personeel! Niets was te veel!

Takayama Ouan werd in 2014 bekroond met het TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, en biedt een traditionele Japanse inrichting en tatami (matten van geweven stro) in alle ruimtes. Dicht bij het station. Goed ontbijt. Bagageopslag voor en na het in/uitchecken

Dit hotel ligt op een ideale locatie op slechts 2 minuten lopen van treinstation Takayama en busstation Shirakawa-go. Het heeft een natuurlijke warmwaterbron waarin u kunt ontspannen. The hotel had onsen with public baths. It was quite neat and clean. Excellent location near Jr station or bus station and a short 5-10 min walk across the river to the old takayama town with tourist things. The bathroom was small (but neat and clean) but we anyways instead used onsen to take bath. The breakfast was just decent and didn't live up to the good reviews we read on booking.com. Just outside the hotel, there is a small cafe run by an old Japanese lady. We loved our coffee and deserts there. Would recommend it if you crave good coffee after the breakfast buffet (it has machine coffee).
