They were super friendly and welcoming, and happy to chat with us in Japanese despite our rough language skills. They drove us to the train station with our luggage when we checked out and even surprised us with a small gift. The Japanese style room was spacious, easy to make dark for sleeping and well temperature controlled, and the futons were comfortable. The upstairs lounge was nice for sitting and had hot water for tea and coffee. The whole house, especially the downstairs, was covered in unique and delightful decorations! Every surface had something charming, and the upstairs guest spaces had enough to delight but not so many that it interfered with using the space. The location is a bit far from Hakodate station, but in the middle of the historic downtown and walking distance from museums and sightseeing.

We could left our luggage before check in time and after check out time. Staffs were very helpful.
