If I only had one word to describe Chez Jean and Daisy, it would be: Magical. This bed and breakfast in a sleepy hamlet outside of Basel near the German border is nothing short of a treasure. Everything in the house is steeped in history, charm, and beauty. Immediately upon walking in the gate to the property, you are greeted with an elegant garden. At the door, the wise and wonderful Jean embraces you with a larger-than-life personality. Daisy, with her warmth and loveliness, becomes no stranger too. The breakfast is served downstairs in the shadow of a ticking clock that has more character than a Victor Hugo novel. The bread is homemade and deliciously unique.

Very friendly staff. Hotel provided clear instructions beforehand and though along busy streets, it has great soundproofing. Location is excellent, just across the old town. Room is spacious, clean with espresso coffee machine (a big plus) and bed super comfortable. Highly recommend.

Everything. The management, front desk, restaurant, bar and housekeeping, exceptional. The staff always greets with a smile and so very attentive to one’s needs. The property itself is in a perfect place in the old town of Basel, so you can walk everywhere. Very clean with large rooms and all the necessary amenities. Very clean and comfortable. Great pillows!The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed a free welcome drink on arrival. The location is great being close to the old Town and a bus stop is opposite the hotel which is very handy.
