I like that the location is just outside the square of an old town but next to a fabulous mookata and evening food market. Walking distance to sights. Wifi is reasonably strong. Air con was pleasant. Toilet has Japanese vibe with the laquered tiles and sliding door. Overall a good stay. Hosts were friendly.

Everything was perfect! Very thoughtful and pleasant aesthetic, very clean and the staff were so lovely. Beds comfy, wifi strong, a well oiled machine all around. First, the Staff.
It’s almost become a cliché. We all read how lovely the Thai people are. We read it all the time.
POR Arak has these people in abundance. Every single one of them are so friendly, approachable and helpful and this makes your stay so much more enjoyable, relaxing and rewarding.
Our room (208) was spotlessly clean, modern and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and the bed linens absolutely pristine. There is a small balcony which sadly doesn’t quite afford a table & chairs. It’s just nice to have the door open to allow a breeze. There is a screen door to prevent insects entering.
There is an enormous SMART TV right in front of you. The aircon is so quiet you won’t always be sure it’s switched on. The fridge has cold water for you at all times.
There are lots of little extras included like toothbrush and toothpaste, cotton buds, slippers and robes.
The shower was very powerful and supplied hot water perfectly every time.
The hotel breakfast and lounge area provides cold filtered water, a variety of hot coffee and hot chocolate (from two excellent machines) and fruit and assorted Thai goodies all day every day. There are even home made jams and other savouries.
Breakfast 07:00-10:00 is terrific with lots of Thai and western options. You can eat inside or out or even around the pool.
The pool is quite compact and a little chilly but you can swim; it’s invigorating and would be perfect in hot sun.
If you don’t want to do it, they will arrange a moped rental (including crash helmets) so for us it was 350 baht per day; deposit is 3000 baht or your passport (be aware the police are sometimes parked on the 1004 main road that leads up into the hills and temples and national parks and waterfalls and they will stop tourists to check if you have an international drivers licence) without that licence you may be fined 500 baht.
