As a solo traveler I was nervous to go to Joburg after reading how unsafe it was. Therefore, I’ve been told I should look for accommodation in Melrose Arch as it’s a safe location. And that was absolutely right! I felt super safe and at home. The apartment is located in an office building, which may seem odd, but the benefit is that it’s super quiet at night thus you will have an amazing sleep. The security is present downstairs 24/7. The apartment itself has all the amenities you may need. There’s also a lovely balcony. The bathroom was clean, towels were provided. The bed was comfortable even if on the shorter side. Special thanks to Shoneez and Suzanne who both took wonderful care of me. Thank you! All in all, would gladly come back any time!

Extremely clean, modern design, fully equipped, quiet and peaceful ! It felt like our own little bubble. Our hosts were very friendly and provided great advice for jogging routes!! The place was cleaned every day and we got fresh towels daily as well. But I was most impressed and pleasantly suprised with the continental breakfast. Normally we do not expect much from a continental breakfast but the amount of effort that went in here was incredible and deliscious (Boiled eggs, yoghurt, muesli and fruit jars, flat break, croissants, assorted meats, fruit and juices!! We tried our best but we could not finish the spread! We enjoyed our stay so much we tacked on two extra nights!!

They give you a Ducky for your bath. Rare to find management with a sense of humour. When I saw that bath after a week in the bush in Zambia, i nearly wept! Quirky decor. Bang on the best location. Food was excellent. I dont think we stay anywhere else in Joburg in the future.. And it is the little things that count. A make up mirror near a window. Much appreciated. Bath that easily takes 2. Proper coffee. Quality iron and ironing board. Crispy linen. Crazy fast room service. Breakfast was bang on. The statue at the bathrooms makes using a public toilet, my pet hate, amusing and intriguing. Oh and Melrose Arch rocks.
