The setting is exceptional - there is no better place to hear and see the full spectrum of the jungle activity day and night. The new argentinian owner, Gonzalo, is fully dedicated to making this place an unforgettable experience for everyone. I especially appreciated all the eco-friendly touches he added to the main building. He is very consciencious and knows Costa Rica inside out. And If you don't usually like bunk beds, give this a try: the high wooden roof make the rooms feel very spacious, and the upper bunk is next to the windows screen and the jungle outside, with a net, privacy curtain, reading light and fan. Top confort. The general vibes of the hostel were chill, and guests were all happy to extend their stay. As a plus, the best grocery store in the region is just down the road.

Siquirres Mountain Lodge in Siquirres biedt accommodatie met uitzicht op de bergen, een buitenzwembad, een tuin, een terras en een bar. It's a beautiful, quiet and relaxing lodge. The host Inge is very friendly and accommodating. She also made arrangements for a guided night nature hike nearby that was very interesting and adventurous. The breakfast was abundant and delicious! I look forward to returning for horseback riding in the near future.

Mecca is gelegen in Puerto Viejo, op 8 minuten lopen van Playa Negra, en biedt accommodatie met gratis fietsen, gratis privéparkeren, een buitenzwembad en een tuin. De cottage was heerlijk om te verblijven. Kleine keuken van alle gemakken voorzien. Zowel het privé zwembad als het gedeelde zwembad was prima. Gratis fietsen te leen. De host kon alle info geven wat nodig was, zoals contacten om een tuktuk te laten komen. Het verblijf lag voor ons net te ver buiten het dorpje om te lopen.

WOW!!! First timers in CR so we didn't know what to expect. We were very happy with our choice. The breakfasts were terrific with cereal, yogurt, eggs (scrambled or fried), sausage, pancakes etc were great. The resort is extremely well maintained and clean. The pool and kids pool were very clean and probably 89°F during our stay (end of February). The Tiki Bar is staffed with great guys who are happy to help. They offer adult beverages and kids drinks along with some really great lunch and dinner options. The only complaint is around the policy around the drinks at the pool. I completely understand not having any glass around the pool but there is nothing better than relaxing in the pool with your drink on the edge of the pool especially when the Tiki Bar provides the drinks in glass. Might suggest a review? The accommodations were also very nice with plenty of hot water. The bed was comfortable and the room was made up daily with fresh towels for the bathroom and the pool. The location was also an easy walk to Playa Manzanillo. Are there resorts that you could pay double or triple the price? I am sure there are but why???? This resort satisfied all our needs and when looking at the hit to the bank account it was a fantastic choice. Don't be fooled by others, you will NOT be disappointed here
