The accomodation was spacious and clean with a big terrace to chill and have breakfast in the morning. Whilst we did not use the kitchen much it was well equipped. The hosts are very friendly. There is a bar around the pool within the residence where you can hang, in the evenings you can have drinks there and hang with other fellow travellers as well as the owners to share about your day and get tips from each other. Welcome breakfast supplies provided on arrival are a lovely touch!!

We felt like being in a little paradise. Welcome was warm and friendly. Marie and Fred are exceptional hosts.

Gites La Nantillaise features sea views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Bouillante, 1.3 km from Bain chaud de Bouillante. There is a private entrance at the apartment for the convenience of those who stay. Guests can make use of the sun terrace or the year-round outdoor pool, or enjoy views of the mountain and pool. The location was perfect, with the dining area and kitchen directly connected to the terrace and a nice pool, stunning view on Bouillante bay. Private, cozy and quiet. Very close to Malendure, so perfect for our diving activity. The property was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Also very convenient to collect take away dinner/cook at home to enjoy the view at night. too beautiful to miss! Véronique was a wonderful host, always helpful and available for suggestions, and provided on request a tasty breakfast (we loved tropical fruit and homemade jam!). Merci Véronique! We would love to be back.

Located in Pointe-Noire, 2.4 km from Marigot Beach, Le Bougainvillier Blanc provides air-conditioned rooms and an outdoor swimming pool. This beachfront property offers access to a balcony, tennis at the tennis court, free private parking and free WiFi. The holiday park features family rooms as well as facilities for disabled guests. We spent a delightful 6 days at La Bougainvillier Blanc in late January. We have poor French-language skills but we managed quite well, aided by a translation app on our phone (you need lots of data - 50 MB). We deliberately didn’t rent a car - that worked because we like walking. If that’s not your preference, you’ll have an easier time with a rental. Our favourite places were the larger local beach, Plage Caraibe, (great snorkelling at the north end) which was about 5 km away, and the Chute de Acomet, a beautiful little waterfall with lots of little pools downstream, which was 7.5 km away. That made for some long walks with some significant hills. Fortunately, there is also a local transport system available which made it easy to get to the other nearby beach (Plage de Petite Anse). Hitch-hiking is considered normal. Good local maps are free at the tourist office. Our gracious host Lucien has a wonderful little swimming pool at the guesthouse, so an end-of-day swim was part of our routine. The trickiest part for us was dinner – we tried to get back to La Bougainvillier Blanc by sunset to avoid walking in the dark, but most restaurants only opened later. We worked around this by eating a large late lunch (good choices at the beaches), eating at the one restaurant that opened at 17:00 (An Ba Tol La), or else making our own dinner in our well-equipped kitchen. If you have a car, there are at least 3 good restaurants close by. Pointe-Noire is not a tourist town so most shops close in the afternoon. Some useful shops that are open most of the day are along the main road (N2) – there are two pharmacies in the centre of town, and a large grocery ((Carrefour Express) and a good bakery/coffee shop on the southern half of town. We weren’t looking for a lot of tourist activities – just a quiet, peaceful time with low-key, interesting things to do each day. La Bougainvillier Blanc and Pointe-Noire were perfect for that.

Yoga classes and fitness classes are arranged at the fitness room in house. For guests with children, the holiday park offers a baby safety gate. If you would like to discover the area, snorkelling, hiking and walking tours are possible in the surroundings and Au Jardin Des Colibris Ecolodge&Spa can arrange a car rental service. The property was beautiful and secluded in the jungle. The breakfast kit was delicious and convenient. The staff were extremely helpful and responsive.
