Just 250 metres from Zenko-ji Temple, Matsuya Ryokan offers simple Japanese rooms with tatami-mat floors, a green-tea maker and an attached Western bathroom. The hotel features public baths. The location couldn’t be better just on the main attraction street and a short walk from the museum on one side or the town center on the other. Spacious Traditional room with comfortable futon and great bathroom. There was also a public bath which was lovely at the end of the day to relax. We had one evening meal there and the food was nice. Staff was very kind (even with our turbulent toddler)

The staff was lovely, we had dinner at the restaurant there- indian style, and it was delicious! The owner made everything to order and we had a great time. Atsu was so nice and welcoming! Relatively close to Matsumoto and Nagano, but great if you look for a peaceful and quiet location

Our stay at Yadoya-Shiroganeya was nothing short of magical. Firstly, the house itself is beautiful and incredibly well kept. It's like stepping into a time machine but also with some modern conveniences. Secondly, Maki-San, the host, is wonderful. She's warm and welcoming and communicates very well in English. We had such a good time learning about the house, its history, and also about herself and how she runs the place. Thirdly, the food. I cannot stress enough how much of a culinary experience this is. The food served by Maki and her mother is exceptional. Locally-sourced and impeccably prepared, we had everything from fresh sashimi, seasonal vegetables, local beef, tempura, and soba noodles. It was honestly one of the best meals we had in Japan! The food alone makes price justifiable, never mind the rest of the experience. An absolute highlight of our trip, we'd love to stay with Maki again one day.

Guest House Hostel yukuru bevindt zich in Iiyama, op 14 km van skigebied Ryuoo Ski Park, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren en een gedeelde lounge. A very nice place on the outskirts of Iiyama. Within about 30-40min walk you can get to the spots of interest in Iiyama (museums, shopping street, etc). I found the house to be spacious and clean. It felt like being at my parents' place. The hosts are very kind and caring. They can accomodate within reason pick up at Iiyama station. The hosts recommended me attractions of interest in Iiyama. I enjoyed them a lot. I went in a rainy day and so my things were wet. Especially my shoes, the hosts did their best at drying them without me having to ask or anything. They also provided a place to put my bicycle so it would be protected from the rain. In the morning, they shared home grown watermelon with me. In short, I felt welcomed and I had a warming experience. I absolutely recommend choosing this guest house.

The Guest House Japan Hakuba biedt een tuin, een terras, een gemeenschappelijke lounge en gratis WiFi. The entire experience was amazing. Koji and Chikako are wonderful people who make you feel at home. I was surprised that they drove us out to the ski resorts!!
