Overlooking the scenic Douro River Valley, Quinta da Casa Cimeira, Guest House, Wines & Food is set in a historic country house and surrounded by a garden and vineyards. It features an outdoor pool and an on-site restaurant. It was an authentic quinta experience. The property has nice views of the valley. The dinners and breakfasts were great. Generous food and wine/port, and the family style dinners offered the opportunity to get to know other guests. The weather was poor, so we couldn’t really enjoy the lovely outdoor spaces, but we were compensated with a great fire in the main room before and after dinner.

Our room was with the balcony was big and beautiful. Had dinner at the property, cooked by the mom - delicious portugese food with generous portions! Enjoying the sunset while having dinner was one of my best moments!

Quinta Alto da Fraga is a lovely, modern and chic property close to the Vale do Côa museum and archaeological site. Our room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was top-notch. There is a lovely pool with sweeping views over the surrounding mountains. There were even a couple of friendly cats, Yoko and Mozart, that helped make our stay memorable. The owners obviously put a lot of care into making this place very special. I highly recommend this property if you need a place to stay in this part of the Douro Valley.

We loved the reception by Mrs Julia, who was very kind and friendly. She gave us tips on restaurants nearby. We also enjoyed the wineyard at the bottom of the hotel and that we were allowed to walk around at any time. The place is very calm and quiet, perfect for a escape from the city hustle and bustle. Mr Jose was also of extreme kindness setting us up with a lovely boat tour through Douro on my bday. We had just asked where we could arrange for the tour and he went all the way calling the person and helping us organize. Breakfast was delicious and all the staff was really attentive. We highly recommend a stay with them!
