It was exactly what we needed for a family weekend catch up. We live abroad and came back to South Africa for some travels and to meet up with family and wanted to do an early family Christmas dinner and Ashleigh even arranged for a Christmas tree and lights for us which was so lovely and unexpected. The house was very clean with all the cooking and cleaning utensils you could need. Anything else we needed Ashleigh was just a message away and happy to help. He kept us informed about the loadshedding schedule and helped with back up power if we needed it. The views are lovely and the walks in the area are beautiful. Inhlazane mountain is nearby as well and was a fantastic little hike. The midlands meander is not far and it's easy to explore the cute cafes and galleries in the area. I would highly recommend this property.

The farm stay offers a barbecue. The food was delicious every morning and every night. We were always excited for dessert! Wilson was also a highlight of our trip- he greeted us, guarded our porch, escorted us to breakfast, and took us on a lovely walk where we picked up some neighbouring dogs along the way. The cat that stayed at our cabin was very cuddly and friendly, too.

It is perched it a lovely little valley and overlooks a dam that teems with birdlife. The view is great, with the majestic Drakensberg mountains in the distance. Inside, the cottage is beautifully appointed and has everything you could possibly need. Each bedroom and bathroom has its own heater, and the lounge is just as cosy, with a fireplace that warms the entire living area. One of the bathrooms even has a jet bath - perfect for a long soak after a day outdoors. The staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient. The cottage is serviced daily, which made it feel like a real break. We especially loved the verandah, where we spent hours just soaking in the view with a coffee or glass of wine in hand. There's a great braai area and even a ready-to-go bonfire -stacked with wood and just waiting to be lit. Honestly, every detail has been thought of. We didn’t want to leave!
