I took my fiancé (then girlfriend) away for the weekend with the intention of proposing. I got in contact with the reserve and told them about my plans and requested them to assist with the set-up. They took us out on a private game drive whilst the staff was preparing a breakfast spot at the view point. Everyone assisted and overshot expectations. Apart from the lengths they went to to make the moment special, the whole weekend was amazing. The staff is exceptionally friendly and one feels at home. I would definitely recommend Summerplace for a weekend break away.

Dinner can be booked on request and was the best we had during our three-week stay in South Africa. The place was super cozy for us and our two kids, ages 11 and 13. It's right in the middle of the Panorama Route, and we spent two full days enjoying the gorgeous views and sights. Beautiful garden where you can enjoy walking around, plus a magnificent terrace where you can sit in the morning and afternoon. After booking, there was clear communication about what time we were expected, etc. The rooms are furnished with great attention to detail and comfort. The beds were wonderful and the luxurious bathroom had a shower and bath with hot water. As we were traveling in winter and the accommodation is located at a high altitude, there was a good fireplace with plenty of wood to keep the room at a comfortable temperature. Meg was very welcoming from the get go and even had prepared a nice freshly baked bread for us. The place is tuck in the woods so one does not hear the noise from the highway. The place is serene and one can do short walks around. The place is big, and has what is needed for simple food preparation. Misty and cool, it offers a good respite from what is otherwise a warm Limpopo province. She was very helpful with recommendations too!
