Offering lovely views towards Mount Wellington, the 1847 Islington Hotel offers luxurious accommodation with original artwork and precious antiques. Just 5 minutes’ drive from Sullivans Cove, it features a restaurant and landscaped gardens with an infinity-edge pond. The staff were beautifully personal giving an immediate homely feel. The shower and bathroom were spacious, well lit. Turn down camomile tea was a nice touch, as was the variety of pillows on offer (although the ones we had on check in were perfect). A huge a very comfy bed.

The self-contained apartments boasts timber floors, luxurious carpets, a kitchen with Smeg appliances and granite bench tops. All apartment has a mosaic-tiled bathroom with a shower. Your lounge area has a 42-inch flat screen TV with free cable, free-to-air channels. Apartment had a washer dryer & a very detailed welcome packet! Great location to the Hobart waterfront, lot of things in a walkable distance. Restaurant in the front looked packed for breakfast but unfortunately we couldn’t secure a reservation.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast with plenty to choose from and included in the price. We made good use of the heated indoor pool. The location is very peaceful with water views. The room was very comfortable with good quality toiletries, linen and towels.
