The location is good, close to the old town and the University of Basel. We can see the old town gate Spalentor outside the room window. It's easy to walk to the main attractions in the old town or take the tram. The reception staff are very welcoming and the hotel provides free water and fruit at the counter, as well as luggage storage services. The hotel takes its guests very seriously. The room was bright, clean, quiet and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious, we were very satisfied.

    Fantastic location right in the center of Basel. Beautiful old building. Parking garage Storchen right next door. Regular rooms are spaciuous and have a great modern style. Staff is very friendly! Spa is small but very stylish/clean and has everything that is needed. Nice bar for a good-night drink and good breakfast. We enjoyed our stay a lot and I absolutely recommend the Märthof!
