I can't say good enough things about this place. Lovely location, looks straight out of a movie. Super comfortable room and bed, with the cutest balcony. You open the window and hear the water in the stream. The sauna was great. The dinner and breakfast are a 7-minute walk away which is overall lovely (it was a little annoying at night in the dark because I wasn't sure of the way and ended up walking on the road, but you can actually go near the river and it's a much nicer walk). Reception staff were so so nice and helpful, restaurant staff as well. My only complaint is that I should have stayed longer!! I've seen this mentioned but I'll reiterate - breakfast is amazing. So many choices for tea, nutriblenders to make smoothies, oat and almond milk, I was super impressed. I wish there were some croissants but that's a personal preference - there were tons of other bread and cake choices. I loved the 4-course dinner as well. I plan to go back as soon as I can!

Our room was modern and clean. I really appreciate the overall concept of this hotel cluster—revitalizing the village in an environmentally friendly way, promoting self-sufficiency, and preserving historical traces. My son and I were completing the Malerweg and decided to finish Day 7 at Stadt Wehlen (Completing stage 7 and part of stage 8). Kurort Rathen is a short train ride from Stadt Wehlen (Free if you have the Gastkarte), and then a ferry ride across the Rhine. We arrived late in the evening (after the restaurant had closed) and as we were booked for half-board, the staff had provided two lovely salads which were waiting for us in our room. We received a very warm welcome when we eventually arrived. The room was clean and comfortable. I really liked the swimming pool, and great breakfast. If I had known how good the hotel was I would have extended Day 1 on the outward trek and stayed here (Just a short distance off route), and then returned on Day 7. Lovely hotel, thoroughly recommended.
