The 88 Armenian has the ideal location within Georgetown's UNESCO World Heritage Zone - only few steps from all major tourist destinations within the historic centre, at the same time situated in a calmer section of famous Armenian Street. We were - once more - overwhelmed by the exclusiveness of the luxurious boutique hotel, a pearl of modern interior architecture within a colonial-time edifice. This was due to many reasons: A total of only 6 rooms overall, the individualized and always attentive service Lawrence provided, the extremely high quality of furniture, bathroom equipment and decoration, the lovely bathroom amenities, the extensive complimentary minibar and snack selection, daily tea time and breakfast delicacies etc. Also, the room was cleaned thoroughly on a daily base, night-time greetings handed out every evening and daily, very friendly and personal chats with Lawrence made us feel like home. At times, the street noises became a bit of an obstacle to sleeping due to the lack of noise protection, but the muezzin's prayer calls in the morning somehow even added to the already magical atmosphere. Thank you, Lawrence and the entire team of 88 Armenian including Suet Chin, who managed the pre-communication in such lovely ways, for having us experience true luxury!

Loved the location, close to beach street and little India. Lots of restaurants in walking distance. The room was very spacious with 4 double beds, more than enough for a family of 4. Even though its location, very central, the rooms are very quiet. I really love the friendliness of the staff. They gave lots of suggestions on where to go or where to eat. Loved the little local desserts every night brought to our room. Even though there are lots of plants around the mansion, there were no mosquitos. ( And I get bitten very easily). The check-in was also very fast. I would definitely return next time we visit George town.

Best leg of our trip. The hotel is simply gorgeous. It has the loveliest historic architecture and feel despite which they have ensure modern facilities like good air conditioning, hot water, etc. My favourite part of the hotel is the library / study on the mezzanine floor. Breakfast and food in the hotel was delicious. The staff is really friendly and welcoming, took time to explain all the sightings and road maps to us.

this is one of the BEST hostels I have stayed in my life. it is on the back part of this stunning classic chinese hotel. they allowed me to check in super early because the bed was available. I arrived 8am from a flight. they didn’t charge me extra for it. also they allowed me to leave my bags there all day without any extra charge too. they are amazing. location is PERFECT, walkable distance to everything you want to see. the bedrooms are spacious enough and you have so much privacy because the beds are like capsules. the bed is super comfortable I slept for ages! the shower is good and bathroom is big. the swimming is not so big but it is nice to refresh after a hot day in Penang. they have a common area with TV, board games and lots of books. I met a few people too, everyone is friendly. honestly this place is amazing. I wish I had more days to stay here! I loved it!

Place was clean, staff were prompt and lovely to deal with, amenities were good, can't fault it. Given the incredibly dishevelled and last minute circumstances in which we arrived at their doorstep, they were very respectful and lovely.
