The rooms were big enough and very clean. The hotel in general was very well kept and the Japanese astethic was great.
We also stayed in a private Onsen of the hotel for an additional charge, which was totally worth it. It was an outside Onsen and it was snowing - truly romantic.

Each of its Japanese-style rooms comes with a private outdoor bath. Where do I even start — this was our favourite stay in Japan! We originally booked for two nights but ended up extending our stay after a typhoon warning was issued for our next destination. The staff were incredibly accommodating, helping us weigh our options and moving us into another available room for the extra nights, ensuring that breakfast and dinner were included. Our host, Hinata, was absolutely wonderful. She spoke clear English and went over every detail of our stay — from cleaning times to meal preferences — with such care and professionalism. She was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely made us feel at home. The rooms are incredibly spacious, with soft, cosy beds, including a TV with Netflix and Disney! Making it easy to spend the day inside doing nothing! The food was exceptional — comparable to a fine Australian degustation that would easily cost hundreds back home. One night, we were even treated to dinner at their sister restaurant down the road, where we enjoyed delicious Wagyu steak, complete with pick-up and drop-off service. There were also snacks and alcoholic drinks available for purchase, plus a daily happy hour from 2–5pm. The private onsens, both in-room and in the public facility, were perfect for unwinding — with free Yakult on hand as a thoughtful touch. They also offered complimentary pick-up and drop-off at the local bus stop for both arrival and departure, which made everything so seamless. It was the perfect escape from the bustle of Tokyo — relaxing, memorable, and truly special. I can’t wait to return!

Very good location, close to the center of Kusatsu spa. Food is great with high hospitality. The quality of spa is great.
Incredible historic building that has been tastefully and newly renovated inside. Very clean, stylish and comfortable. Was literally the perfect, ideal Japan countryside experience. The staff were the best we had in all of Japan. We will stay here again and recommend to all our friends going to kusatsu.
the hotel is very modern, clean, and spacious. food is great! staff can speak english. location is good and close to the shops.
The atmosphere was beautiful and the personelle was super kind. The facilities were a bit old and it seemed that they haven't been renovated lately which for us was charming and part of an original experience. There were also some more modern facilities like the entrance hall and the lounge on the 3rd floor. The food was amazing (we had breakfast and dinner included) and had so many different varieties. They also matched the food to the food allergies of one of us.
The location was central, about 10 minutes walk to the onsen. The accommodation was nicely furnished in an old house, but had been nicely renovated. It was very clean and the beds in the dormitory were comfortable, with curtains for privacy and lockers. We didn't use the kitchen but it was well equipped and even spices like curry were provided free of charge.
Location right by the lake is great, the staff were really accomodating and the onsen was also top quality. One traveler requested a change in the standard breakfast which was surprisingly agreed with the chef.
Perfect location. Small walk from the bus station and the Yubatake, in a quiet corner of the town. Beautiful view of the town. It is also right next to Jizo Onsen. This hotel is brand new and clean. The rooms are very beautiful, a mix of modern and traditional style.
The location was good at the end of a quiet road. Staff were very helpful all of the time and did their best. An English member of staff was there at booked meal times. The Mountain View room was beautiful and spacious. The coffee machine and coffee provided were good quality.
-Very modern and beautifully designed -Very comfortable beds -Great food -Very good location, only a few minutes walk from the Yubatake -Clean and nicely sized onsen -Staff were very nice and made us feel welcome -Good cocktails at the bar
