Hotel Metropol is located in Spišská Nová Ves, about 3 km from the Slovak Paradise National Park. Hotel Metropol offers a wellness centre, a restaurant, and rooms with a private bathroom and free... Gloriously, unselfconsciously retro. Shiny wallpaper, striped carpets, and lots and lots of dark wood-grain plastic. Teeny-tiny elevators but it's worth the wait. The room even has kind of a retro smell, but in a good way - some kind of robust industrial-strength cleaning products they use, none of this delicate 21st-century stuff. Just like the bad old days except the staff are pleasant and the food is present. The room was huge. Great wellness center in the basement.
