You can see giraffes and zebras from your tent, which is incredible. Best of all has to be the staff - Nelson and the team are always ready to help and very friendly. The food by Chef Nelson is excellent and they’re very flexible to dietary restrictions. All in all, I was very glad I chose this place compared to other expensive lodges.

Sitting on a shady raised platform facing the Talek river, each luxury tent covers approximately 26sqm and is fitted with a queen size bed or 2 twin beds. Bijzonder mooie kamp in Brits-koloniale stijl, gelegen naast air strip (geen last van), topservice, deels vernieuwd na overstroming april 2023, prima uitvalsbasis om de Mara te verkennen.

Super location with tents spaced out between private winding paths on a hill with a view. Dining area with fireplace and washroom. Tents with washroom also. Great dinner was an added bonus. This was super for a group of work colleagues visiting the park.

Enkusero Mara ligt in Aitong en biedt gratis WiFi, een tuin, een terras en een bar. Alle units hebben een eigen badkamer met douche. Er is ook gratis toiletartikelen en badjassen. Small (3 tents, one of which is a large family tent), intimate, charming camp, unfenced, ideally located, in the north conservancy, just 5 minutes from the Maasai Mara’s Musiara gate entrance, 15 minutes from the air strip. Completely local ownership and management, which we highly value and one of the reasons we chose this, together with the location and the small size. We had tent 3, high on stilts, large, private, wooden floors, huge netted windows, outside deck all around, unobstructed views on the savannah. Big comfortable bed with good mattress, en-suite bathroom with toilet and huge shower, running water. Electricity and hot water are solar - electricity is around the clock, so maybe the camp tops it up at night with a generator, but we never heard one. Large, charming traditional mess tent, with bar area, and extra lounge, wonderful outdoor deck with fire pit, small plunge pool with deck chairs. Food was excellent, they will apparently cater to dietary needs but have a fixed menu. Most meals in the mess tent, some scenically set in the bush. All drinks were included as was daily laundry. Highly knowledgeable and dedicated guides (William the owner, and Alex), game drives were mostly inside the park and arranged as and when we wished, with picnic breakfast and/or lunch, or not, as we wished. Park fees were included which made the offer we got superb value for money. We had been on safari several times almost 4 decades ago when luxury safaris were mobile or semi-permanent tented camps, small, unfenced, only with simple drop toilets and hot bucket showers, communication only via radio, bush cooking, communal mess tent and fire pit… but with an abundance of local staff delivering perfect, exclusive service. That’s the feeling we were looking for again and this is the closest we found on our trip to Kenya: very similar traditional, exclusive safari feeling , experience and charm, with great service, modern comforts, but no excesses and low imprint.

Perfect gelegen naast masai mara reserve, in the conservancy, wat een goede aanvulling is omdat daar de dingen mogen die in masai mara niet mogelijk zijn zoals bv sundowners, walking en night safari’s, off road rijden. Dieren bewegen van ene gebied ne andere, zijn geen omheiningen dus zelfde dieren daar. Uitstekende gids, Ibrahim. Project ondersteunt Masai community ook.

De tenten zijn groot en super comfortabel, het is net een huis, maar dan met de natuurgeluiden. De bedden liggen heerlijk, we hadden allebei een eigen tweepersoonsbed. De staff is super vriendelijk en behulpzaam en vooral Millie maakte ons bezoek extra speciaal. We voelden ons heel erg thuis. De gitarist speelde zelfs een liedje voor ons tijdens het diner. Het eten is goed en de faciliteiten en het uitzicht zijn top. We zagen een nijlpaard vanaf het terras!
