If you are coming to Udawalawe for a safari then this is the place to stay. Located very close to the National Park entrance this camp had us feeling like we were one with nature. Our room tent/cabin was ready on arrival. It is not a hotel so you should know going in that this is a camping adventure. Beds were comfy and cam with very good mosquito nets. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure was fine. There is no A/C but you do get a floor fan and the room also has plenty of outlets for charging. You get your own private deck in front of your tent with chairs and a beautiful view of the river. I would suggest allowing them to prepare all of your meals. They were all delicious and came at a fair price considering there is nowhere else to eat within a mile or two. The camp prepares and takes car of everything for you, meals, free river tour, and free night walk after dinner. They also will book your safari for you. Once you arrive, you do nothing. It was absolutely amazing.

The tent features air conditioning, an electric kettle, a terrace with river views as well as a private bathroom boasting a shower. The unit has 2 beds. Beautiful and clean property. Felt like home. He organized the safari, the driver was a great guide. Lots of animals to see and lots of elephants. The owner is very kind. Definitely one of the most beautiful places I have stayed in Sri Lanka. Highly recommended for a few days getaway

The staff were fantastic and always ready to help answer any questions including “what bird is that” x 20. The staff were patient and knowledgeable and they made my experience amazing!!

This property is absolutely amazing. The huts are luxury. Very comfortable bed, we slept so well. All facilities there that we needed. Outside shower which was interesting & enjoyable in this environment (even in the rain!). The toilet / sink area was covered & down steps in a small outer area. Very quaint. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room & given extra as needed. Bottles & water & toilet paper given each day. Fridge great. The staff were incredibly helpful & friendly. The food was delicious. We had three different types of breakfast. First day served at our table, huge platter of amazing food. The second day we took a packed breakfast on safari, lots of snacks there. The third day it was buffet which was also delicious. Freshly cooked different eggs on top of all of other food. We had half board & evening meals were delicious. Highly recommend hot calamari. We also had lunch one day. The club sandwich was full of so many delicious ingredients. The pool was lovely & we used it a lot. We had our own safaris booked, but I know the property will book these. Overall it was such a brilliant experience & would absolutely recommend. They also took a credit card for payment with no extra charge. Excellent. Would definitely return.

If you are going on safari and want to truly experience the real spirit of it, I highly recommend staying at this camp. The campsite offers modern tents with their own open-air bathrooms, giving you comfort while staying close to nature. The area features two swimming pools, a bar, a lovely banana garden, and a dining area. Breakfast and dinner are varied and delicious. The staff is extremely kind, helpful, and welcoming — we were greeted with a refreshing glass of juice upon arrival. Before the early morning safari, tea and coffee were already prepared for us, which was a very nice touch. A wonderful experience overall — highly recommended!

Very luxurious and comfortable. It was huge! With two separate bedrooms and a little seating area in the front, very well furnished and exceptionally clean. Staff were incredible and very helpful, right from the moment we arrived they couldn’t do enough to help us and were extremely polite and respectful. The meals were exceptional and seemed to be conjured up from nowhere! They were served under the stars for dinner around a beautiful fire, which was so special. Then there was the safari itself, it was so magical seeing herds of elephants and their babies. Our guide and driver were so motivated to ensure we had an excellent experience and stopped at nothing to ensure this happened.
