Hartenbos Private Game Lodge is a privately-owned escape set in the malaria-free region of Hartenbos, Mossel Bay situated on the Garden Route. Very good communication from host, beautiful setting. Upgraded to a villa free of charge due to an issue with the tent we originally booked.

The executive tented suites are spacious with a separate large lounge area. Each unit is elegantly decorated in colonial style with 4-poster beds and mosquito nets. What a wonderful stay — but far too short. During our trip along the Garden Route, we absolutely wanted to do a game drive, so we booked one night here. But take our advice: one night here is simply not enough. To fully experience this place, you actually need at least two, maybe even three nights. Anyway, for anyone looking for a true safari experience in the western part of South Africa, there’s only one thing to say: Botlierskop is absolutely the right choice. Of course, it’s not Kruger — but hey, you know that in advance, and this reserve is clearly very well managed, and sustainably too. As for the accommodation: absolutely fantastic. Extremely spacious tented lodges with every imaginable comfort — and what views! We stayed in one of the lower lodges overlooking a pond where rhinos and buffaloes came to drink, just a few meters below us — truly breathtaking. The 3.5-hour game drive at sunset was educational and perfectly guided by Mel. The fact that we didn’t see lions didn’t matter at all — the rhinos, hippos, elephants, buffaloes, cheetahs, wildebeests, giraffes and zebras more than made up for it. Finally, the staff were friendly and discreet — what more could you ask for? We’ll definitely be back, next time with our children. Thank you!

Teniqua Treetops is een tentenresort op boomtoppen in het weelderige bos langs de Tuinroute tussen Knysna en Sedgefield. We stayed in Greenbeard Treetop, which had the most amazing 180° views of the forest. Our accommodation was very comfortable, with all the kitchen equipment you require, great outdoor Braai, an incredible view from the bath. A minimum of 2 nights is a must. This is a real GEM in South Africa.

This tent's standout feature is the private pool. Offering free toiletries and bathrobes, this tent includes a private bathroom with a shower, a hairdryer and slippers. I was late for breakfast, food was almost finished. I enjoyed their fresh fruits and fresh orange juice.

This tent features a hot tub. Guests will find a stovetop, a refrigerator, kitchenware and a tea and coffee maker in the fully equipped kitchen. The tent also comes with a barbecue. We loved our stay, it’s private enough that you can really relax. It was clean and comfortable and would definitely come back. My only suggestion is to make sure ice trays are full before new guests check in - but it did not take away from our stay.
