The staff is super helpful, kind, fun, and always go above and beyond. Highly recommend this lodge if you search something more intimate. Set 20 km from Drakensig Golf Club, Little Africa Safari Lodge offers an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and air-conditioned accommodation with a patio and free WiFi. food was excellent, property was great, tents were nice, game drives were absolutely fantastic in a large private animal reserve. Thanks to our fantastic and knowledgeable tracker and guides Mateo and Never and our tough topless safari car we were able to get incredibly close to all animals including the big five by driving on small dirt roads at all times. No need for telephoto lenses - we just used our iPhones and only used our binoculars a couple of times.

The amenities provided in the rooms made you never want to leave. I have had coffee in the morning on my private balcony in my bathrobe after my wonderful hot shower in the luxurious bathroom. At night we sat by the pool drinking wine after our dinner. This exceptional hotel is the best-valued hotel I have ever visited.

I took my fiancé (then girlfriend) away for the weekend with the intention of proposing. I got in contact with the reserve and told them about my plans and requested them to assist with the set-up. They took us out on a private game drive whilst the staff was preparing a breakfast spot at the view point. Everyone assisted and overshot expectations. Apart from the lengths they went to to make the moment special, the whole weekend was amazing. The staff is exceptionally friendly and one feels at home. I would definitely recommend Summerplace for a weekend break away.

Southern Sands Ecolodge offers tented accommodation within the Ndlovumzi Nature Reserve, located on the banks of the mighty Olifants River. This is the best spot to be if you want to visit the blyde river canyon. Terry and Robina are just the most wonderful host, they made our journey unique and unforgettable. The tent is very comfortable and it is next the to the olifant river, so you just hear nature all around you. Amazing!
