Besides all this, Ikuno is a charming little town, with surprising good views at every bend of the river, where life seems to go at an easy pace. There are nice places to eat and there is a big enough supermarket with a good variety of fresh foods.

The air-conditioned accommodation is 700 metres from North Disaster Earthquake Monument. The property is non-smoking and is situated 1.6 km from Kinumaki Shrine. Although it takes a bit more effort to get there, I really love the atmosphere of this place. I didn't meet the host the first night and felt a bit cold, but I didn't mention it. To my surprise, the second night I found a hot water bottle in my bed before I went to sleep! The last bus from Kinosaki Onsen leaves a little after 5pm, so if you want to stay in Kinosaki Onsen until the evening, cycling is a good option. The bicycle was really great to ride! Genbudo Cave is also worth visiting; I cycled there after soaking in the onsen. Thanks for all the help from the host!

Taketoritei Maruyama is a non-smoking Japanese-style accommodation featuring natural hot spring baths for private use and free Wi-Fi throughout the property. From its hilltop location a 15-minute walk from Kobe Electric Railway Arima Onsen Station, it offers sweeping views of Arima Onsen. Loved everything. The service was great and the private hot spring was the highlight of the trip. The location was close enough to town with lots of things to do. They have a complimentary shuttle bus service to take you everywhere. I will definitely return if I go to Japan again.
