Me and my Fiancé had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at Lakenhow for a long weekend. Room was cosy and very spacious with amazing views of the sea, especially during sunset! Location is great if you’re not looking for a tourist heavy spot. It’s also a short drive away from Wasdale for anyone who’s planning to hike up Scafell Pike! Overall we loved the room and would definitely come back in the future.

I think this property has been freshly refurbished as it was exceptionally clean. Constant hot water Loved having the games room, and the freedom to use the kitchen, and the location near the beach was great. From the outside you would not expect it to be as good as this.

Castle grounds are beautiful! As a guest, you have access to all the grounds, the bird shows, weapon area where you can shoot cross bows, throw axes and do archery. Access to kitchen which is fully stocked. The room we stayed in was simple but perfect and really spacious with a sofa and TV. For the price I can't recommend this place enough

In principle everything was above my expectations. Location, friendliness of host and staff, cleanliness etc. There are also many pubs in town and walking the coast path from St Bees to Whitehaven (or the other way round) was really stunning.

Lovely period property in quiet location overlooking the sea, with on site parking & ideally placed to visit Wastwater, St Bees, Ravenglass Steam Railway etc. Spotlessly clean room and comfortable bed. Great nights sleep! Good variety of quality items provided for continental breakfast. Host very pleasant and attentive throughout stay . This was my first visit and I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend. Thanks for your hospitality Loretta! PS cheers for the room upgrade. 😃
