The place has a simple yet beautiful garden, clearly cared for with love. There are peace lilies, young coconut trees, purple coleus, and a charming frangipani tree. Masakali was absolutely amazing. We spent our honeymoon there and couldn't have picked anywhere more perfect. The villa was gorgeous, especially the pool and hammock with beautiful views overlooking the rice fields. The place was very clean and looked after and the bed was probably the most comfortable I've ever slept in! The staff were wonderful and attentive and looked after our every need and nothing was too much trouble for them. The location is a bit outside of Ubud centre but it was perfect being in a more quiet and authentic part of Ubud with beautiful surroundings. Honestly the only problem with staying here was that we never wanted to leave the villa! Thank you so much to Ira and everyone at Masakali for making our stay so special :)

The welcome, the breakfast and the helpfulness of the staff With them you can do everything like tours and rent a scooter Even being driven to the airport with your luggage at a reasonable price with their super car (I think even get a tattoo as a souvenir 😂) And the swimming pool, even if shared, is beautiful ❤️

From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome. The staff was waiting for us at the road and helped us carry our bags to the bungalow. The garden and especially the view from your own little private terrace/balcony.. Just wow! The pictures don't do it justice. It's even better in real life! We arrived late in the evening and they served us dinner on our balcony. The room was very clean and the outside bathroom, with a little fountain, was a pleasure to use. It was a little cold to swim, but we did it anyway and enjoyed the majestic view from the pool. After a great breakfast at our balcony, we only had to walk 1 minute to the entrance of the rice terraces. One of the staff members even walked with us, to show us the way. Very kind! Ubud is a bit farther away (approximately 30 minutes by taxi), so if your staying longer, I would recommended hiring a scooter). Since Ubud itself is very busy and most of it you can see in one day, we preferred staying in this more secluded place with relaxing nature sounds at night (instead of scooter-sounds, haha). Clear to say that I would definitely recommend this place!

very friendly staff, located between rice fields and near a small and nice restaurant. The breakfast was delicious. The rooms are really beautiful and comfortable. Also everything was very ecological, from the napkins (cotton, no paper so no waste), self made juices, passion fruit growing on the trees in the garden. Also positive is that you can let do your laundry at walking distance for a cheap price. Looking forward to come back here!!!
