The property is a convent in a modern building set on the hillside. The room was basic but more than adequate.The Sisters will collect you by car from Sutri if you wish. The food is a set menu, simple and nourishing - the highlight was ice cream home made by the nuns!

Staying at La Canonica was absolutely delightful. What a gem! From the interiors to the location, and the staff. Our bedroom was beautifully furnished and we loved waking up in a bed of roses :) If you are looking for a one in a million accommodation this is the place for you. Cozy, charming apartment. Two separate rooms, two bathrooms (one with a shower), located in the fascinating medieval town of Sutri. Many beautiful and interesting places around. The host, Francesca, gave us a very warm welcome and allowed us to check in two hours early.

It was a real haven for our rest day from the Via Francigena. We loved the location and the warm welcome from staff. All the facilities were top quality and the extras in the fridge were most welcome. Although it was rainy we did manage to have lunch outside which was glorious. Staff were especially helpful in putting a coat we had left behind into our bag. Thank you!
