Great hidden gem, near the beach. Definetly recommended for a stop on the way back to Colombo or to start your travels. Swimming pool is also great.

Outstanding place Excellent breakfast Kind hosting family. Very kind morning waiter. Excellent English speakers...an opportunity to chat about lot of subjects. They really care for your comfort. Every amenity has a special touch , from flowers to napkins. Provided also assistance for shopping, dinner, trips and airport transfer. Quite location away from mass tourism buzz but tuk-tuk transport free of charge. Hope to come again. Thanks a lot!!

EVERYTHING! The owner is a very friendly lovely lady. The room was super clean, the location is an amazing quiet area, 3 mins walk to the beach. We also got a MASSIVE breakfast. Everything was just fantastic. Can’t wait to visit again <3

We loved Channa Villa and Bentota so much we booked an extra night, if we'd know we would have spent less time in Mirissa and more time here. The standard of accommodation was the best we had stayed in through out the whole of our trip to Sri Lanka. The rooms were a good size, beds were comfortable, with soft pillows and clean linin. We had a fridge in our room and the use of a shared kitchen which was spotless and we were able to make our own tea and even make our own toast for breakfast as we had bought bread from the local supermarket. Close to the railway line, but you could hardly hear the trains from our room, a short 5 minute walk to the beach, which was the best beach by far. Plus close to a few restaurants dotted along the railway track. And of course friendly staff

A simply wonderful 2 week stay amid a beautiful green oasis of carefully tended plants & a spotlessly clean & comfortable room. Aayu is an excellent hostess from the warm welcome excellent breakfasts and all the extra touches were much appreciated. We cannot recommend Aayu's place highly enough it is an absolute gem . We arrived as guests & departed as friends. See you again.

Nice, quiet and above all clean accommodation not far from the beach and the train station. Breakfasts were great and rich. I highly recommend this accommodation.

We can’t wait to return to this hidden gem! Our recent stay at Happy Man Village was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff provided hospitality from the heart—always smiling, receptive, and genuinely anticipative of our needs. Their warmth made us feel welcomed and comfortable throughout our entire stay. Room: The spacious and clean room featured a modern outdoor bathroom that added to the charm. Being secluded, with a good distance from the next cabana, we enjoyed the serenity and had the pleasure of observing the local wildlife in nature. Outdoors: This property truly allows you to disconnect. It is peaceful, with a beautiful garden and pool, and is situated far enough from the main street that we couldn’t hear any noise. Yet, we were close enough to the beach to enjoy the soothing sounds of the waves, which were just a ten-minute walk away. Services: Happy Man Village offers a complimentary drop-off and pick-up service to beaches and restaurants via tuk-tuk. We were fortunate to be escorted to a temple where a monk provided thoughtful explanations about the local culture. Additionally, they offer laundry services (for a fee) and kindly arranged a massage for us on the property (also for a fee). We highly recommend the boat tour along the river or lake, where you can immerse yourself in the local jungle and see the train tracks washed away by the 2004 tsunami. Our suggestion is to do it at sunset, so you can see the birds returning home to roost. Food: Before our last night, we took a cooking class with the chef in the kitchen, which was a delightful and fun experience. We had a great exchange while learning the secrets of Sri Lankan curry. The dinner at the restaurant on the second evening was equally delicious!

The hosts are very nice and committed towards hospitality. The property was stunning, nestled near nature, rich in heritage, and featuring retrofitting. Wonderful host, incredibly kind people, and very considerate. Srilankan breakfast was the star. loved the food, taste, hygiene.

I would say that Charika Villa is just a perfect example of hospitality. The room is lovely, the furniture is new and pleasant to use, and the bathroom is great size and even has a heater. The host is amazingly supportive. He found us a great surf instructor and helped us with transport but never promoted unwanted services. The breakfast was also great and peacocks and squirrels running around were so lovely. If you are looking for a place where you can rest you mind - that is a great choice.
