Serene environment, top quality service from the lovely owner, the room was immaculate with everything we needed and very picturesque. The host even provided us with tea, water and laundry service. Possibly the best place we’ve stayed in Sri Lanka, and do not be put off by the negative reviews regarding the driveway, it is easy via Tuktuk and worth it for the views and privacy. Their tuktuk shuttle is free and available 24/7 - thank you again for a wonderful stay ❤️ the best place to eat is Ella Siyapatha Hut Restaurant. This was the most authentic meal we had that was cooked by the gorgeous family. Truly an amazing experience if you’re in Zella

By far our best accommodation in Sri Lanka! The room is spacious, tastefully decorated, with a clean bathroom and a very comfortable bed. The view from the balcony (both from the room and the breakfast area) is breathtaking and the owner is very friendly and welcoming. To top it off, breakfast is fresh, copious and with a good mix of local and more Western options. The only thing we regret is that we could stay only one night.

This place was exceptional throughout the trip. The helpfulness and friendliness of the staff exceeded anything experienced so far. We forgot the food on the balcony at night, so in the morning we had a live monkey show. We apologized to the staff but they cleaned it up quickly smiling and saying that its ok. After check out from hotel we left our luggage at hotel and had hiked to Ella rock, it was rainy so we came back wet, muddy and bloody (a lot of leeches on the way), the staff let us shower, change and even gave us hot tea. Hospitality at the highest level. Any hotel in Europe would have to pay a daily fee for this. Thank you once again and surely will be back.

We are very happy to be the first local guest to stay in this accommodation.This is our first experience staying at a homestay. Wingate Homestay is a perfect place to stay in Ella. It is close to the Ella town (5min walking distance) and the Railway station, nine arch bridge and Little Adams peak. The room was very pleasant, it was cozy and clean.The bathroom is very impressive and The hot water shower is really great.The room and bathroom are very modern. Breakfast was excellent. Lunch was served very deliciously with our favorite dishes. They provided tea and coffee in the morning and evening. Fresh fruit juice are served in the afternoon.The owner has always been friendly, patient and helpful. That impressed me the most.The price is also very reasonable.

We have never experienced such kindness and genuine warmth from the staff before. The gentleman was incredibly helpful, even drawing us a map and thoroughly explaining the route so we wouldn’t get lost on our hike to Ella Rock. Additionally, he arranged a tuk-tuk to town on a rainy day and prepared the most delicious breakfasts we’ve had in Sri Lanka. The view from the balcony was breathtaking, and the quiet surroundings made it perfect for relaxing after our mountain adventures.
